Entry #1: Miss Spider
Store/Style: Vera Wang Sample Sale, Vera Wang N5404
Heel: 3 3/4-
Price: $50, originally $488.95
Once upon a time, at a sample sale midtown, lived a lonely pair of satin shoes. Though these shoes had been made with the finest care, like the Tin Man in the Wizard of Oz, these shoes yearned for a heart, a soul.
One early summer morning, while sitting gracefully shy on a white plastic picnic table, these shoes felt a rush of energy when a spunky little girl came by and swooped them up. Bringing them up close, her eyes widened and a smile spread across her face. With a quick kick of her feet and a flip of her wrist, the girl put both shoes on. Time stood still as a gentle warmth filled them both.
The girl strutted around carefully tapping the heels and pointing the toes and her friends cheered. Bringing them back into her hands the girl looked at the shoes and said “you will be loved.” As she placed them carefully into a box, the shoes felt something it had never before- its heart flutter.

The two most important factors in my wedding-day shoe search were *SPARKLE* and COMFORT. I’m a total fiend for all things that shine. - I wanted my shoes to reflect that. :o) Normally, comfort really isn’t a big issue; if it looks good, chances are very high that I’ll just bite my lip and suffer. For the wedding though, my mom urged me endlessly to steer clear of the 4″ Choo’s I was eyeing, warning me that if I wore anything over 2″ high, I’d be weeping by the end of the day (and not tears of joy).
I very reluctantly realized that she was right, and started searching for a pair of more “practical” shoes. Practical doesn’t always equal boring! I discovered my Stuart Weitzman’s at Nordie’s by chance. The crystals flickered in the light, beckoning me to them. I picked a shoe up, delighted to see that the heel was low (by my standards)! Alas, Nordstrom didn’t carry my size, and I immediately went home and logged on to Shoe Heaven, otherwise known as Zappos.com. On my wedding day, I had them on my feet from 1:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m., with nary a wince or tear. - Oh, how comfy my toes were! When I adjusted my skirt to gaze lovingly at them, they twinkled back at me beautifully. ;).

Entry #3: Mrs. G
Store/Style: Robinson’s May, Valerie Stevens
Heel Height: 2 3/4″
Price: $120
I had a vision of what my perfect wedding shoe would look like… mid-heel (since I live in flip-flops and can’t usually wear heels for very long), ivory beading to go with my pearl jewelry and a little vintage looking… and lastly - that they wouldn’t look like the traditional white silk/satin wedding shoes. I totally didn’t think I would find a shoe that would fit my dream shoe. I was very pessimistic I would find “it” and even bought 2 other shoes before finding these. I made myself take one last trip even though Rob-May was closing in 20 minutes and I saw “them”. They literally had a glowing halo around it… they were the shoes in my head! Mid heel, ivory beading, vintage-y- and they actually were super comfortable! Hallelujah! The search is over! And they seriously were super comfortable… I didn’t have even one bit of foot pain the day of the wedding… I only took them off right before I had to get into my flip-flops to take my beach pictures. And since they don’t look like wedding shoes you can totally wear them again! I wore them a week after coming back from the honeymoon with nice black pants and an ivory top! How fabulous is that! And I they were only about $120!
My second favorite wedding “shoes” are my white beaded flip flops from Target! And to be honest I bought them like 2.5 years before the wedding and I hid them in my closet and never wore them til the wedding day… I just knew I was going to get married and that when I did I was going to wear flip flops!

Entry #2: Shelley
Store/Style: Zappos, Delman Cherish-Se
Heel Height: 2 1/4″
Price: $158.95
For my wedding I was pretty sure I was just going to buy a pair of Coloriffics Lindsay shoes. I wore them when I was a BM at my sister’s wedding and they were super comfortable.
My mind changed when I saw these Delman shoes on Zappos.com and I fell hard for them. Their original price tag of $258.95 was way too high for me to pay for them (I am a bargain shopper). So I kept froogling them hoping someone would have them on sale one of these days. Finally in April they were on sale for $158.95 and they had my size. I immediately bought them and had them shipped to me. They sat in their box in my closet until my first gown fitting in July.
The shoes are the perfect shade of champagne and the kitten heel height is just right for me and my weak ankles! I love the detailing on it - little bows and flowers in champagne with a periwinkle flowers as well. Although the only times my shoes will be seen at the wedding is when I am being carried on a chair during the hora and also for the garter toss. I hope to get a few shots of this great find. These are great shoes and I plan to find outfits to wear with them even after the wedding!
