Groomzilla

August 21st, 2006 @ 2:30 pm by Mrs. Butterfly

So the groomzilla has finally reared its ugly head. silly5.gif I kid, I kid.

Mr. Butterfly is having a slight crisis. He is trying to decide between two tuxedo shirts. One is from Brooks Brothers and the other is from Thomas Pink. thomas pink.jpg

Thomas Pink

You see, all of our groomsmen’s tuxedo shirts have pleats on the front, because that is the only style that was offered. However, the Thomas Pink shirt, which is the brand he likes better, doesn’t offer pleated wing collar shirts. So he’s left with the Brook’s Brothers option, however, they don’t fit him very well. He spent the entire weekend pestering me what I thought about the shirt choices. Whatta dork~.

My answer? It doesn’t matter. Why?

  1. No one will notice because most of the shirt will be covered up by the vests and ties.
  2. Everyone will be looking at me, silly5.gif not the difference between his shirt and the groomsmen’s shirts.

It has been over a week and he still hasn’t made up his mind. So I beg you readers, please help him make up his mind!

Which shirt should Mr. Butterfly choose?

Definitely should go with the Thomas Pink, because the groomsmen will have the pleated front so that he will be different and stand out more as the groom and not a groomsmen! but that is my opinion =)

he’ll get more wear out of the thomas pink because of the style, plus it’s what he likes better. mr. bee wore a thomas pink on our wedding day as well!

I went with the brooks bros ONLY because that jacket won’t stay on all night! So he’ll match better (if he wants to match the groomsmen).

I would absolutely go with the one that is more comfortable. He’s gonna have that shirt on for a LOT of hours.

He has to have the one that fits! Fit is way more important than matching — which never really works all the well anyway.

I definitely like Thomas Pink more.. great shirts, and it looks like he can wear it again. Go with what he likes, and isn’t it a good thing that he stands apart from the GM’s?

My fiance is wearing a non-pleated Hugo Boss tux shirt instead of pleated like his groomsmen because he loves their dress shirts and wears them everyday.

Thomas Pink. It fits him better. And hey, if the Bride doesn’t match w/ her BMs, the Groom shouldn’t have to match w/ his GMs. This way, both the Bride & Groom will stand out. =)

He should go with the Thomas Pink simply because of the fit. It’ll save money not to get it altered if he were to go for the Brooks shirt. And he likes the Thomas Pink brand better anyway.
