Wedding TV Shows

August 21st, 2006 @ 2:10 pm by Mrs. Bee

I can’t keep up with all the new wedding tv shows on the air now! If you just can’t get enough check these out:

You can also find wedding specials on the Food Network, VH1, abc, and Lifetime. Are there any other shows we’re missing? What are your favorite wedding shows?

Let’s see…Bridezillas, I make sure I catch every episode. It’s horrible, sometimes, but I just can’t help it! Those women can be absolutely INSANE. Platinum Weddings, I like, too…because I know I won’t have a million dollar budget, but it’s fun to see someone with all that money just doing what they want. I just saw A Wedding Story for the first time today, and I thought it was cute. Maybe it’s just me, but I thought Bride vs. Bride was a bit cheesy. Haven’t seen the other ones, though…I need to Tivo some stuff ;) I think I’d be happy if there was like an all wedding channel. Then my FI would REALLY think I’m nuts. :)

About Bridezillas, I think I messed up how I was going to say that. The show is funny, in my opinion, but horrible at the same time. The way I said it, made it seem like the show itself was horrible.

I love Bridezillas. In fact I just finished watching the first 2 seasons from Netflix. It simultaneously makes me feel good about my planning attitude and temperment, and helps me be a little more vocal about what I really want instead of trying to be nice all the time.

I’m a sucker for Wedding Story, it was the first wedding show I really got in to YEARS ago. I think it was the first reality wedding series? no?

Yeah, I think you’re right…I’d seen it in the program guide years ago, but never watched it (A wedding story)

Love Platinum weddings. I watch Bridezilla’s although I shouldn’t. DF says it might rub off on me LOL.

I love all of the shows that follow the couples and the planning process. Bride vs. Bride is too cheesy for even my reality-loving tastes. Bridezillas is so fun to watch, but I have to DVR it and watch alone because it scares my BF. :)

Although I think Bridezillas is so poorly made it is a guilty pleasure. As for a favorite I would say Buff Brides always gets me inspired…and I like Who’s Wedding is it Anyway too.

A girl I was a bridesmaid with and knew when I lived in NY is one of the poor girls in the first edition of Bridezillas. The unfortunate thing is she and the other brides were told they were going to be on a show called “Manhattan Brides” and the footage was sold and then turned into Bridezillas… since they had signed a waiver, I don’t think they had any control anymore.
