Makeup Trial (I of I)

August 22nd, 2006 @ 4:02 pm by Mrs. Spider

Mr. Spider and I are housesitting for his parents while they are in Taiwan for 3 weeks. That means I’ll be living la vida suburbia for the next 3 weeks. Last Friday, I dashed out of work on the dot to catch two trains and a bus back to his parents’ house. I patiently waited for Mia from the Bridal Lounge to come and make me beautiful. As it turns out, she was running late, Friday traffic was murder, she had to add a squirt of lemon juice to a gaping wound, then I gave the wrong directions and it took her 20 minutes just to back-track. By the time she arrived, the sun had long said hasta manana.

Here’s the thing, when it’s dark out, no matter how many lights you turn on inside, it’s still dark. Throw in my volatile camera flash and you get dark pics OR crazy flashed out pictures so please excuse my poor quality gallery.

Time Lapse: 2 hours

Time Lapse: 4.5 hours (I fixed my eyebrows and wiped the lipgloss off and it still took me another 20 minutes to wash everything off)

We sat around the kitchen island during the trial so I didn’t get to see anything until it was all finished. In my mind, I thought I was going to look AMAZING. I mean I endured rough poking of the eyes, the somewhat suffocating spray of the airbrush foundation and the tedious task of gluing on tiny, individual lash extensions. When she declared that she was done and there was no room left on my face for another product, I jumped off the stool and ran over to the mirror. The first thing I though - OMG, who is this?

What I liked: my eyes looked huge; skin was flawless; lashes amazing.

What I didn’t like: my eyebrows were pointy; my lips were too fake and my cheeks weren’t rosy enough.

I took a million pics, believe me, but the lighting was just NOT right. Still, I was pretty happy and everyone else said it looked amazing so I booked Mia. In case you love what she did to me, here are her prices:

Due to the delay, I didn’t get a chance to take a BEFORE shot. So here are some pictures of me on normal days:

I think you look great! Good points about the flash, I had not considered that…

I felt the same way after my first trial “who is this person?”

i love your eyes, but i like the 4 hours elapsed picture of the three the most. perhaps it was the lip gloss that threw me off?

you look beautiful though!

i like your natural eyebrows/4 hour lapse eyebrows the best. not a fan of the pointy eyebrows myself. once, many a year ago - i got my makeup done for prom and i hated my eyebrows. everyone said they looked great and that i just wasnt used to them. years later, i still am not happy w/ the way they looked. point being - go w/ what you are comfortable with… =) makeup looks great though!

I dont like the eyebrows either, it thought the same thing as your did. I also agree on your cheeks not being rosy enough… Other than that I think you look great!

the eyebrow is okay. if she make it softer then it would be great.
I like your overall make up. it’s very natural.

Yes the first thing I noticed is that your skin looks flaw~LESS! Beautiful skin! And I love your eye makeup. But I do have to agree your eyebrows, especially in the 1st pic, do look too pointy.
