Reader Poll: Honeymoon

August 24th, 2006 @ 2:38 pm by Mrs. Bee

Weddingbee reader Gellibelly is having a hard time deciding between three different honeymoon destinations. While she loves the idea of relaxing on a beach after the the hoopla of the wedding, she’s concerned that she might get restless and a week just might be too relaxing.

If you could go to any of the three destinations, which one would you go to?

For those of you who have been to any of these destinations, what was your experience like?

Bali is prob my #1 vacation wish-list spot (well, shared with Australia, Galapagos, Thailand, Bora Bora… ) but I don’t think you can do it in a week. The flight alone is a day….

My sister just went to Greece on her honeymoon (in June) and LOVED LOVED LOVED it. They decided on Greece because it wasn’t a million hours of flying, and there was a mix between gorgeous/relaxing and fun/exploring - they wouldn’t have been happy on a beach the whole time.

my brother went to borabora for his honeymoon and loved it. my friend also just got back from greece and spain for her honeymoon and loved that. because our spain honeymoon was so jam packed, i’m inclined to say fp because in retrospect i think we should have relaxed more. but i know that i’m a sightseer at heart… and i would prolly have chosen greece between those 3 options.

It’s a tough decision - good luck! =)

I went to Greece way back in 1999 for study abroad and I’ve longed to return since then. There is SO much to do and see in that country - it’s just breathtaking. Ancient history literally lines the streets and is haphazardly scattered in backyards and the countryside.

I’ve always wanted to visit Crete, especially. Someday, someday!

We went to Bali for our HM, and though the flight was a KILLER (24 hours total from California — 5 hour stop in HK) it was totally worth it!

Bali is another world — it’s absolutely beautiful!

I went to the Greek islands for my honeymoon and it was just amazing. In addition to the beautiful sights, there is so much history and culture there. It’s definitely a trip where you can have a bit of everything. If you only have a week though, I would say to try to restrict your trip to a couple of the islands or else you won’t get to enjoy them properly!

What month are you going? September - Dec/January, I would pick Bali. I’m from Indonesia and we’re going there for our honeymoon in October along with Thailand.
