Cones Are Done!

August 28th, 2006 @ 2:53 pm by Mrs. Caterpillar

The wonderful and magnificent Lauren came over to do cones! With the help of Mr. Caterpillar’s mama, we finished them in about 30 minutes.

I can’t believe they’re done.

But, the pinwheels remain . . . sigh . . . .

Milka — my cones are being stored as you see them, hanging from those tiered dessert plates. Normally, I just tuck them one inside the other and store them that way.

Kani and Marclovesmes — the pinwheels are for a sort of chuppa-like thing for the ceremony. I swear it will be worth it :)

I am having the hardest time gluing the cone together!! I tried super glue, double sided tape, regular tape!! I am trying to tape a front and back together too. It is a HOT MESS, how did you do it??

@CourtneyKF: Sorry to hear you’re having trouble. The most important thing is to match your adhesive to your paper. The thicker the paper, the more tacky a glue you’ll need (and correspondingly, more drying time). Tape will work for very lightweight papers that don’t have special texture. And superglue isn’t meant for paper at all — it’s only meant for non-porous surfaces like plastic. If all else fails, you can try staples or those old-fashioned brad fasteners.

Good luck!
