Entry #1: Vanessa
Store/Style: Steve Madden, Margy
Heel: 4-
Price: $129.99
Dear Ms. Bee,
Please find attached some photos of my delicious wedding shoes. I wanted something unexpected, sexy and totally decadent. These are Steve Madden style “Margy” with a 4″ heel height. I purchased them on Zappos awhile ago, so I’m not sure they are available anymore. They were $129.99, definitely expensive for shoes I’ll only wear once, but what the hell, I’m a BRIDE–right? They match my wedding colors to a tee and the BEST part of it all is…..I don’t even have a dress yet! AND I will be taller than the groom! I don’t care. I love them. They are everything I ever wanted in a shoe. Except for the pain.
Regards, Vanessa
p.s. thanks for a wedding website that doesn’t insult my intelligence!

Below is my quest for my wedding shoes. I am not sure if this counts as one entry…
I am 5′ and my FI is 6′, thus I need high heels. I am looking for 4″ heels. I wear high heels daily, so I thought, no problem. Initially, I was on the look out for a plain, white satin, closed toe, sling back (or ankle wrap-but no pump). I thought I’d find something?! I decided that I would order pairs and return as needed until I found the pair! After searching every shoe shop I could find, I ended up purchasing the following pairs-
My Glass Slipper, Nina Viliana

Zappos, Cynthia Rowley Sax

My Glass Slipper, Grazia Alexa
After those weren’t comfy or were too big, I realized my options were getting slim. I figured I should also take a look at strappy ones, although for a nov. wedding, that’s not what I envisioned wearing. I ordered the following… without success.
My Glass Slipper, Colorful Creations Style #CC8730

My Glass Slipper, Stuart Wietzman Glogam

Then, I realized that each Stuart Weitzman store had the potential to carry different shoes specific to that location. So I contacted the company and they gave me a list of all of the Stuart Weitzman numbers. I called each freakin store and ordered these shoes.
Stuart Weitzman Lines
Stuart Weitzman Turnabouts

I also ordered at least 3 others that were very uncomfy and I didn’t take pics of them. I did decide to keep the Turnabouts. But, when I went for my first fitting, all the weight of the dress ** I think ** made the straps dig into the tops of my feet.
So I decided I should have a runner up or have the Turnabouts as runner ups.
When Miss Spider posted her fab Vera’s that she got a sample sale, I thought- these are what I was looking for all along!! So off I was again to look for them. I called VW and they didn’t have them. Zappos had them but in ivory. And myglassslipper just posted some, but they start in a size 5.5! I even called, they don’t have a 5. Oh, and e-weddingshoes has the white ones too, but they start in a 6.5.
So now, I don’t know what to do other than wearing some old red ones I’ve had for a while. My bouquet is deep red peonies, so I guess they’ll go… I just wanted to wear all white, down to my little stupid size 5 shoes!

sorry so long…

I am cursed with weird feet — wide and bony — so I must wear flats most of the time (my podiatrist and aching feet tell me so). But b/c I am short, I definitely want to wear high heels on my wedding day. My search for shoes ran the gamut of t-strap sandals (to make my feet look less wide) from Zappos, to low heeled beauties at the Vera Wang sample sale (alas, did not have my size), to trekking across department stores far and wide. At one point I told myself that I’d buy an uncomfortable pair of shoes just b/c they were nice, I was tired of looking, and that I’d bear the pain for one day.
I was all set to go to Macy’s and buy those shoes but I couldn’t bring myself to do it after trying it on one more time. Thank goodness I held off and wandered to a nearby sale rack b/c a shimmering pair of silver shoes caught my eye. They were exactly my size(!), the color I wanted, very sparkly, and the ultimate test — my feet did not reject them like I would a swarmy guy on the dance floor. In fact, the shoes were quite comfortable, probably b/c the material is cloth-like and expands to fit my wide feet. What I love about the shoes are that I can definitely wear these again. But I got the best surprise of all at the register when I learned that the shoes were half off of the price that was already half off — just $20! I feel like Cinderella with the perfect shoe (but I’d certainly like a pair of Insolias to guarantee that I don’t turn into a pumpkin at the end of the night)!
[Unfortunately I don't think my picture does the shoe justice b/c the crystals in the front come out really dark, but imagine it with me!!]

When I first started planning my wedding I knew I wanted my “something blue” to be my shoes. Head to Toe white was not my style. I was thinking of a pale, powder blue until I saw these shoes. I think I might have started drooling when I saw them but I can’t remember because I definitely got dizzy. I wore them all around the store with my mother looking at me like I was crazy. I hadn’t quite sold her on the idea of blue shoes. If they had been under $100 I would have purchased them right then and there, but since they were more, I put them back on the shelf and sighed. I continued to think about these shoes, dream about these shoes, and visit these shoes. I brought DH into the store twice just so I could wear them for a few more minutes. I did manage to find another pair of shoes, white and covered with rhinestones for $30. I snatched them up thinking 1) If I don’t use them I’m only out $30 and 2) If I can’t be blue I’m definitely going “bling”. DH got me sapphire earrings for Valentine’s day and I changed my “something blue” to sapphire earrings, necklace, and bracelet.
When my diamond white dress came in, however, the white shoes were out. They didn’t match at all! And the sapphire necklace was almost invisible. New plan. “I need the blue shoes” I told my mom, and we were off. As soon as we left the store I knew I made the right choice. My shoes were one of my favorite parts of my wedding and even won over my mom. “They’re like a little surprise” she told me as she cautioned my seamstress to raise the hem of my dress high enough so they could be seen. I never got sore or tired, and even my photographer loved my “hot shoes.” I can’t wait to wear them again, and again, and again….
