About Mrs. Caterpillar

I am just a sucker for random projects. Accordingly, I broke my No More DIY rule, and started some water bottle labels. I did them in pink and brown because that was the easiest way to make cheap paper look not so cheap. Ha.

Half the label is a monogram of sorts; the other half is a piece of a love poem from Nizar Qadah. I wanted to give guests something to read, i.e. distract them, while waiting in the blazing sun for the ceremony to start.

Quick question: Where did you get water bottles without pre-existing labels on them already?

Kate — I just peeled the labels off. It didn’t take very long. Then I centered the new label over the glue marks left by the old one. Because I used a card stock, you can’t see anything of the old label at all.

Milka — I put a series of poems on. My favorite, though, is

I do not resemble your other lovers, my lady
should another give you a cloud
I give you rain
Should he give you a lantern, I
will give you the m o o n
Should he give you a branch
I will give you the trees
And if another gives you a ship
I shall give you the journey.
