About Mrs. Violet

Who doesn’t love chocolate? Candy may not be the most unique favor to give, but who can resist them - I can’t be the only one. I plan on including chocolate in my favors and I haven’t figured out which brand yet, but I know that quality chocolate is a must.

I received a box from Lake Champlain last Christmas.

Ghirardelli signature Squares made in San Francisco are always a good choice. Great variety too.

Scharffenberger isn’t just for baking. Look at these cute individual pieces.

My fiance LOVES Reese’s Peanut Butter cups. That might work. Do you know of any brand that has individually wrapped pieces like these?

i love ghirardelli chocolate. i actually have a bag of the stuff sitting on my desk right now. there’s always godiva. i like their truffles.

i think, if you wanted to do something a little more personal, the reese’s would be a cute idea, especially if those are mr. violet’s favorites. there are plenty of ways to dress them up a bit. if you can get personalized wrappers for hershey’s bars, there’s got to be a way to personalize other candy. i’d love to give out chocolate as favors or even have a chocolate fountain but my bf gets sick if he eats chocolate [especially the rich and dark ones, which are the best]. he sucks. haha

I love Ghirardelli! My favorite chocolate!

Another brand that is famous but I haven’t tried yet is:

And look @ how cute these are! This brand is well known too…

I love the idea of reese’s! We’re looking into chocolate favors, and were going to go Sees-style, but then he told me his sister used the exact same favors for her wedding- the flavor and all! That got nixed. My friend sent me to a neat page for my autumn themed wedding, fall-colored foil wrapped chocolate leaves and acorns, couldn’t be easier than that!

You could always do the traditional hershey kisses/hugs (silver or gold), peppermint patties, mini candy bars (krackle, semi-sweet, mr.goodbar)…

The Lindor chocolate truffle balls are always a good choice. I love the peanut butter ones myself. Although, I plan on using the mint ones as part of my wedding favors. Bulkfoods.com has the best price for them if you are looking for a specific favor, but if you don’t mind a mixed package, I’d check Sam’s or Costco!

http://www.applecookies.com/

Apple cookies has really, really good chocolate, without any wax in it (did you know that most chocolate is made with wax? Ew.). Their website doesn’t show any of their wedding work, but they do wedding chocolates, they can do custom shapes and custom packaging; you have to call for details. A friend recently had their stuff at her wedding and it was SOOO GOOD! They can do custom cookies favors too, I think.

Thanks for all the feedback ladies. I wil definitely look at all the websites. Reese’s Peanut Butter cups may be the answer, but I’m going to keep looking to see if there’s anything better that won’t be too costly.

I’m a self-proclaimed chocolate snob and I usually prefer European chocolates to American ones, but I found Gail Ambrosius (in Madison, WI!) and her chocolates are literally to die for… infinitely better than Godiva. She did my favors and guests are still raving about them and ordering more off her site.

Hershey’s Kisses!
They’re great! They also make Hugs which are milk and white chocolate swirls.
