My BIL sent me a link to an interesting article in the New York Times today, about the lengths women go to snoop on their significant others - peeking at emails, following their SO’s, even recording phone conversations.
I used to have a coworker who saw her boyfriend enter his voicemail password one day. She proceeded to listen to his messages daily and tell me about her findings. I told her if she looked for trouble hard enough, she’d eventually find it. Of course one day she came across a suspicious message and confronted her boyfriend. It turned out to be nothing, but her unfounded suspicions really put the trust in the relationship on the line.
I have many similar stories about friends reading their significant other’s emails, mail, voicemails… and honestly nothing good has ever come from it.

Every month The Oprah Magazine features things that Oprah thinks are great in a feature called The O List. This month I loved these vibrant, stylish gym bags from Koie Products which have separate compartments for your shoes, clothes, ipod, etc. I’d really want this if my lazy ass actually worked out.
A great gift for the sporty bridesmaid, available in 6 colors for $75.

I stopped by the Laura Mercier counter earlier this week to get a makeup trial done for the wedding and my engagement photo session next week. I decided to go with them because I might as well start with the top of the line makeup counters and compare them to other counters. I was also tempted to go to Bobbi Brown or Trish McEvoy, but the counters were empty with no makeup artists.
All in all, I would give her work an 8 **(star) since I could tell she knew what she was doing by her makeup techniques - blending, creating lids, shadows, highlights on my eyes and cheeks, use of eye liner underneath the eyelashes (a little uncomfortable). The top of her palm was a canvas of different colors.
I was a little worried because most makeup artists that have worked on my face ended f-ing up my eyes, and I would end up looking like some Asian porn star with heavy amounts of eyeshadow and hot pink lipstick. I’ll probably try a couple more makeup artists just to compare.
Here are some pictures… I hope you can tell that I have some makeup on. I was trying to go for the look in the Zhang Zi Yi makeup photos I posted before. Similar makeup but not quite the same effect because of my fat round head! Argh! Ha.
Everything went beautifully for our Civil Ceremony. Now to continue planning our big wedding in September of next year!
Here’s some eye candy.
I hand tied the bouquet myself. As well as made the boutonniere that my fiance is wearing.

We should have been covering this from the beginning, but alas now we’re going to have to do a recap.
The Today Show is sponsoring their 7th annual Today Show Throws a Wedding series, where viewers vote on every aspect of a televised wedding for one couple. This year’s winners are Molly and Jason from Playa Del Rey California.

Polls for the wedding dress, groomswear, bridesmaids dress, and wedding cake have been held so far. See if you can pick which ones are the winning choices - we’ll tell you what they are at the end of the post.

I don’t know the purpose of this game, but at my first bridal shower that my aunts gave me we played this. There was a large bowl of uncooked rice and a bunch of safety pins (closed) dumped in. Each person takes a turn being blindfolded and then they have a minute to dig out as many safety pins as they can. It sounds like it would be easy but it is hard! It’s crazy how you can’t tell what is rice and what is a safety pin! I only got 2 in 1 minute.

I threw a bridal shower for my FSIL this past Febuary that was a hit. Out of the 4 games we played, the fav among everyone was the Wedding Cake game. Each table was a group (about 5 guests) they were given a pound cake, some edible glitter, cake decor, icing and all the good fixings. They were given 10 mintues to create the best wedding cake, of which the bride chose!! The guests along with the bride had a great time..and the guests still talk about it and have used since then!

A couple weeks ago I started talking with Miss Violet about making my flower girls’ gifts. I loooove her Etsy site and knew she was more than talented enough to make adorable necklaces for our little FGs.
I told her about what kind of Swarovski crystal beads we used in my bouquet (sapphire, light sapphire, and clear) and showed her a picture of the FGs dresses, then left the rest up to her.
Last night I got a message–she’s already completed one of the necklaces! Check it out:
(these are all different views of the same necklace)

My FI and I have decided to have an open bar (only beer & wine), and we’re going with Chateau Ste Michelle for our wine selection. We decided against including liquor in the open bar because most of our guests don’t drink hard liquor or mixed drinks. Ninety nine percent of his family doesn’t drink and about 99% of my family does drink - wine.
It was a little hard to accept that our venue/caterer does not give us the option of bringing in our own liquor. My family has been in the liquor/beer/wine business for over 20 years, and we know exactly how much there margins are. We could be spending half on the price of wine if we brought it in ourselves. I cringe everytime I look at our wine budget.
So we’re working around their price sheet and we’ve budgeted for Chateau Ste Michelle Merlot as the house wine for the night. Some of our guests are high dollar / top counter wine connoisseurs, so we will also be offering an extra case of premium wine for them just in case they’re not satisfied with our house wine. They’re called our “VIP” guests’ list for our bartender to check from.

We’re also skipping on champagne since I think it’s a waste of money for us. What will we toast with? Well we will be toasting to a long, successful & happy marriage while sipping on Chateau Ste Michelle Merlot wine. I don’t think it’s neccessary since most people don’t finish the whole champagne bottle anyways. If you were to calculate 20 tables each with one bottle of champagne, that could run over $500. We’d rather spend the money on the extra bottles of wine that will actually be used.
