Anniversaries

September 5th, 2006 @ 12:54 pm by Mrs. Bee

Today is our one and a half year anniversary of being married, and our 2 year and 10 months meetaversary.

In the first year of our relationship, we used to celebrate - or at the very least acknowledge - our meetaversary every month. After we were married, we stopped celebrating our meetaversary and celebrated the one month, six month, and year marriage milestones. Although because we met and married on the same date, we’re still technically celebrating both. ;)

How important is celebrating your anniversary to you? Do you think you’ll stop celebrating your current anniversary and only celebrate your wedding anniversary once you’re married?

We’ve been together for….one year and five months now. We used to celebrate or at least mention every month, but this last one sort of got past us. I think we’ll have to do something big next month, though!

I think we’ll at least mention our dating anniversary even after we’re married but realistically I imagine it’ll sort of fade out. I’m already celebrating the 25th of every month, though. We order food and talk about the big wedding coutn-down!

Happy Anniversary Mrs & Mr. Bee :-)!

My FI and I celebrate our “meeting” and “dating” anniversaries every month. OK, to be exact, we USED to actually “celebrate-celebrate” every month. And he also spoiled me w/gifts even on monthly anniversaries. Now we’re so busy (and trying to save for the wedding) that we don’t necessarily actually DO something every month, but we always acknowledge the occasions :-). We do always make a deal out of our 6 month and yearly anniversaries, like going out of town on a little getaway trip or he spoils me to yummy yummy fine dining. So basically we have 4 major anniversaries: 6 month meeting, 12 month meeting, and 6 month dating, and 12 month dating. Our friends laugh at us for always seem to be celebrating every few months. We love it! Now we have “engaged” anniversary to acknowledge and we don’t know what we’ll do w/all the dates once we’re married!

Fi and I are lucky enough to combine the two! Our “dating anniversary” is 9/14/04 and our wedding will be on 9/14/07!! So, all anniversaries will be covered! :o)

me and the bf celebrated the monthlies during our first year with little gifts and stuff, mainly because i’d never had a relationship make it to that first month [i sucked. haha] and while we had planned to stop after our first year, we do still acknowledge them. plus, one of our monthlies lands on valentine’s day so it works out perfectly.

i would assume that once we do get married, we’d start over with the monthlies and then yearlies starting from out wedding date

As we have already been together for 10 years, I can’t imagine letting the anniversary of our first date go - it’s such a large piece of our relationship. We probably won’t give gifts, but it will always be a special day.

Happy Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Bee!

I used to be very sentimental with practically ALL my anniversaries. Every month was special for me. I think that went on for the first 2 years of dating. Now-a-days, after 4 years of dating, i have trouble remembering when our anniversary is! Haha. It’s coincident because the fiance asked me recently if we are going to celebrate both our “dating”anniversary and our wedding anniversary once we get married. Since they fall on the same month of July, we decided to just celebrate the wedding anniversary but remember the dating one on the side.

I chose our wedding date because it is 6 months from our dating anniversary, so we can celebrate twice a year.

We (I and then him once I remind him) celebrate (sorta) our meet-aversary, our first-date-aversary, and our official-couple-aversary. Probably the first date and the meeting one will fall by the wayside once we’re officially engaged, but the official couple one still sticks in my mind — it was a wonderful night. :)

We are getting married this October, three days before our dating-versarie. I think when we are married, we will just celebrate our marriage anniversarie and maybe our engagement-versarie, but somehow acknowledge our dating-versarie. All those days are so special to me.
