Invitations

September 5th, 2006 @ 3:22 pm by Miss Sunflower

About a week ago, I requested 3 free sample invitations from Exclusively Weddings. They arrived a couple of days ago. I’ve decided that I need an invitation with, at least, a little bit of color, even if that color is only cream. This is what they sent me:

This one was really tiny and very…plain and white.

I have similar feelings about this one.

This one was the only one that I liked. The border looks kind of yellow, but in person it’s cream-colored.

Of course, I have a while to decide on invitations, but it doesn’t hurt to start getting ideas now. I’ve fallen in love with this Peony invitation from WhiteAisle.com. It’s soooooooooo pretty.

I’m not all that enamored of Exclusively Weddings’ stuff. Their favors and such are overpriced and lots of their invitations look cheap–I ordered some samples a while back and just threw them away–one I ordered had an accordion fold and it wasn’t even lined up correctly. WTF???

It’s my favorite, too :-) I just thought I’d take a chance and see what exclusively weddings had to offer and I wasn’t too impressed.

I ordered my invitations from White Aisle and I’m really happy with the quality of her work. However she merely plugs in whatever I say without offering me any input (despite my asking). I guess after reading about her on her webpage and being a newly-wed, I felt she was a little on the “cold” side. Very business-like and professional, nothing more, nothing less. But the invitations are truly high quality and definitely don’t feel cheap!

I had the opposite experience. Rebecca from White Aisle was extremely nice and prompt with her emails. But after getting some samples, I was unhappy with the quality. I LOVE LOVE LOVE her designs, but I wish the papers and her printing was of better quality.

i’ve heard mixed reviews about the quality of white aisle’s invites/stationery - some rave, some say the paper/printing is not that nice. Tho I think their designs are quite lovely. I would request a sample first to make sure you like them. good luck!

I just received my samples from White Aisle. I ordered four different styles (Lily, Venice, Fleur and Botanical) and I’m afraid I would agree with Turtle, lovely designs but the paper quality was below par.

I ordered sample after sample from exclusively weddings. My favorite was the square one you liked, only I ordered it in gold. But since we’re having a less formal wedding in the middle of the afternoon, it was a bit much. Plus postage was going to hurt. Good luck finding invites. I like the one from white aisle.

I LOVE whiteaisle.com. I’m especially fond of the Arbor and Venice invitations.

I’m definitely ordering samples this week.

I think you can DIY with the peony invitations. I’ve seen it somewhere (forgot where), where you can buy a peony stamp and the color ink and voila!

I am a big fan of White Aisle. I ordered my Save the Dates and loved them. Rebecca is totally flexible in working her designs to fit your needs. Also, I think the paper quality is great - the paper is thick and soft to the touch…just what I was looking for for!

I just got my save the dates samples last night from White aisle (I know I said I didn’t like them, but I love her designs, so I thought I’d at least get the save the dates from her). I got the lily and venice cards and they were actually great! My Checkerboard samples came too, and in comparison, my FI and I loved the white aisle ones better. Originally I looked at the Botanticals line, and the paper is definitely of lesser quality. Venice and Lily seemed much better- and soft. It had a nice antique touch. The ink is flat ink, but it was still pretty cute. As long as you order a set made with Arturo paper, you’re golden!

Aim, Mrs. Ladybug did the DIY peony for her thank you cards. They were beautiful…
