Contest: Most Romantic

September 6th, 2006 @ 12:22 pm by Mrs. Bee

When People asked David Duchovny what the most romantic thing he’d done for his wife Tea Leoni was, he replied:

TÆ’©a has a really nice singing voice and doesn’t think that she does. I rented out a studio with a band and said, “I’m taking off, you’ve got five hours.” (So) she made her demo.

That made me think - we should have our own “Most Romantic” contest, so you have the chance to tell us why your partner is so great! Send your entries to stories@weddingbee.com and tell us the most romantic thing he has ever done for you.

The weddingbees will select the finalists, and readers will vote on the winner. The winner will receive a copy of The Engaged Groom, a copy of Happy Anniversary (to keep the romance alive year after year), and a Paperbride tip kit. Deadline to enter is September 22nd. May the best romantic win! :)

My entry for Most Romantic Contest
How we got engaged….
Adam told me that we were having dinner with his friends who recently got engaged to celebrte the good news. The plans were finalized the night before when Dave called Adam to set a time and place. Adam came home that night and said there was a change in plans and it was only going to be the two of us. It was raining, so I asked Adam to get a cab and I would meet him downstairs, but he had a limo waiting and as soon as we got into the car, he told me that there was one more surprise. Adam had a special bottle of wine decanted at the restuarant the previous day. Since Adam is such an oneophile, I did not think this meant a possible proposal, but that Adam was excited about this 1983 wine that he had been talking about having for a while. Dinner lasted 3 hours and we had a great time. After dinner I figured there might be more planned and he might propose, but he said that was it, and we headed back to the apartment. I was a little disappointed …But then, when I walked into the apartment I was totally surprised. The apartment was filled wth vases of beautiful Hydrenas and Irises, candles and champagne (Adam had ordered floral arrangements and had them hidden by the doorman, so I would not see. Adam’s friends came to the aparmtent and set the stage with flowers and candles everywhere). Adam went over to the tv and asked me to watch something. He had our favorite line of a movie set to go. Jimmy Stewart responded to the line “will you yield?” with “for a question”. Adam asked me to yield and I said YES to the question.
