Vendor Feeding Frenzy

September 6th, 2006 @ 3:06 pm by Miss Sunflower

Since Friday, I have received…let me count…11 postcards from a variety of djs, florists, limo services, and photographers. This is not including the 4 sets of duplicates I’ve received or the 2 phone calls from a band. Is this normal? WOW.

I feel like I’m caught in a tornado of cardstock.

we’ve been getting phone calls EVERY DAY!!

at first i kept thinking: who are these people? how do they know we’re getting married? how did they find us?

it took me a few days to realize that our “venue” was providing our info to them.

ugh.

I signed up for a messageboard which automatically put me on a mailing list of a gazillion vendors. I got 10-20 pieces of mail every day! Once I cancelled that though, I never got another piece again. It could be one of your vendors giving your info out to other vendors? I think spamming is just horrible. :(

the first thing you need is a binder and an accordion file. to make sense of the paper that will continue to swamp you…
i think, though, that it scarily *is* normal once you get engaged. first the ring, then the solicitations…

Yeah it’s normal and it always works out that you get a good coupon for someting you had already bought your bridesmaid!

I have TWO binders - my own that I had started a few months ago and the one that Jericho Terrace gave me - don’t have one of those accordion files. I think I’ll have to invest in one b/c the binders are slowly expanding.

I signed up at liweddings.com also and the phone calls started pouring at all times of the day. My trash also became double because of all the postcards and mail i got from vendors!
