Most Romantic Entry 3

September 7th, 2006 @ 12:53 pm by Mrs. Bee

Hello Bees,

I don’t know how many entries you can send in, but I think I’m going to send in this one. Nine years ago during the Christmas break, I was working with my then-boyfriend, now-fiance. He was my boss, and I was the smoothie slinger who worked for him. I got a massive case of pneumonia. It was bad, and being an asthmatic, it was even worse for me- I was deathly ill.

My mom called in sick for me since I couldn’t take a breath in to make the call. Angry that they were out a worker, they demanded that I call in myself and find someone to cover all of my shifts. Amazingly sick, I couldn’t do it, so my boyfriend not only took on all of his shifts for two weeks, he also took mine. My sweet guy worked two jobs for two weeks non-stop, sometimes working 16 hour days. That was the most romantic thing he has ever done. :)

Any guy can buy you flowers and chocolates, or even whisk you away to Paris if he had the money. But working two jobs to cover for you when you;re sick? THAT is true love! Hold on to him, he’s a keeper!
