Open Question: Milk Jars?

September 7th, 2006 @ 11:33 am by Open Question

Hi weddingbee!

I was wondering if you could assist me in finding individual milk in glass jars. I’m hoping to have chocolate chip cookies and milk for a favor and can’t find milk in glass jars for the life of me! Help!

Thanks! :)

What a cute idea!

I know that Ronny Brook farm in the Hudson Valley has some milk in glass bottles, although I’m not sure what their sizes are.

I think their products are available at high-end gourmet-ish grocery stores, but I discovered them at NYC area farmer’s markets.

aww… what a cute idea :)

if worst come to worst… get the mini sized milk in a carton & overlabel them (as you would a water bottle) :)

I was going to suggest contacting a local dairy farm - if they don’t already put millk into individual jars maybe you could offer to buy some (easily available from medical supply and craft places).

If you can’t find milk in glass jars you could get the single serve containers and attach a cute straw to it.

I thought about doing this as well, but then had the hardest time trying to find the glass bottles (Did you see it in Martha Stewart? I think that’s where I saw them). Good luck!

would the milk be cold? wouldn’t it go bad if left out for some time?

I was thinking about having a cereal theme birthday party for my youngest child, and couldn’t find glass bottles. Either try the little cartons from a school( about 0.35 cents) or use little glass canning jars. We didn’t get to have the party because Cereality never got back to me with ordering data.

I found a solution if you’re not opposed to recycling. The 9.5oz Starbucks Coffee bottles. I’m going to remove their label, steralize the bottles, paint the lids, and fill the bottles with milk.

One last post. This is a link for glass bottles. The site also has plastic bottles. It also has a lot of stuff that would work for favors.
