Save The Dates Finished!!!

September 12th, 2006 @ 10:06 am by Mrs. Bluebell

After months of obsessing, two sets of printing, infinite outings for additional supplies, hours of manual labor and the resulting wrenching shoulder pain…OUR SAVE THE DATES ARE DONE!

They are, as you can probably guess, completely DIY. I was conflicted foreeeverrrr on exactly how much information we should put in them since all our guests will be travelling from afar and we are offering many of them lodging for free in family houses, but don’t want people who don’t get offered lodging to be offended, etc.

But now they’re done! We just have to get a few more addresses, weigh the final product to make sure it’s not over $0.39 (pleeeeeeease, please don’t be!!!), and drop them in the mail. I took a bunch of in-progress pics, so I’ll post those (& the final product) in a week or so when I can assume most of our guests will have received them! Yay!

Now we just need to actually… plan the wedding!!!

Looking forward to seeing them - especially on wording for lodging. I have a similar dilemma!

I hemmed and hawed over what design to use, making a half dozen mock-ups of various things before settling on a tri-fold save the date pamphlet. It incorporates our colors and theme while providing lots of information on lodging, transportation, directions etc. I even made my own map. The whole thing took two evenings to create with the map being the most tedious part! Thankfully, photoshop layers are pretty forgiving and it was easy to make changes as necessary.

I can’t wait to see what you came up with! I hope it doesn’t make me change my mind again.
