About Mrs. Lily

Holy Freakin YUM!

September 13th, 2006 @ 9:34 am by Mrs. Lily

I’m a total chocolate addict. I NEED chocolate in my life. Mr. Lily sometimes hides snickers around the apt for me when I’m desperate for a fix. (Isn’t that sweet? He doesn’t even like chocolate– gasp!) So when I went to my friends’ wedding a few weeks ago, I was psyched that the favors were chocolates. I must confess, I’d never heard of Vosges chocolate before, but I will never ever ever forget it now.

These cute little boxes were filled with one Budapest (sweet Hungarian paprika + dark chocolate) and one Gianduia (crunchy praline + milk chocolate) truffle. They were seriously some of the best truffles I’ve ever eaten. At $5.25 for these cute 2-piece boxes, they’re a little steep price-wise, but they sure do taste amaaaaaazing!

They have ICE CREAM? I am totally going to the store. And I’m totally going to have someone leak to Mr. Lily that a whole box would be an EXCELLENT gift for me!

Ice Cream Flavors:

Naga - Sweet Indian Curry and Fresh Young Coconut in a creamy custard ice cream

Pandan - Pandan Leaf Extract, similar to vanilla wafers with a touch of pine nut, and dark chocolate

Red Fire - Ancho & Chipotle Chillies, Ceylon Cinnamon and dark chocolate

Wattleseed - Aboriginal Wattleseed, which tastes like chocolate, coffee, hazelnut and vanilla all in one, with macadamia nuts

hooray Vosges! I have loved Vosges chocolate for many many years, and went to their first botique in Chicago right after it first opened. The balsamic and the fennel truffles are really great.

Definitely try their bars–the Goji Bar and the Black Pearl…mmmmm. The Red Fire is totally delish too. Actually all of them are unbelievable good.

Also Vosges does tiny cakes! Completely adorable…
