About Mrs. Lily

Martha!

September 14th, 2006 @ 1:20 pm by Mrs. Lily

Here’s the blow by blow of me going to Martha!

ma.jpg

1:25: One of my bridesmaids and I arrived, drenched in sweat (from running since neither of us are ever on time), hoping they hadn’t given our tickets away.

1:40: We’re through the doors, tickets in hand, excited!

1:41: We’ve already found the free Sarabeth’s cookies and are tossing a few back.

1:43: I fill out one of those little forms with questions for Martha and put one about wedding flowers down.

1:45: My bridesmaid and I notice that the general demographic is much much older than us… guess most people are at work at this time on a Wednesday!

1:46: We start to fantasize about all of the good things Martha might give away.

At some point I lose track of time and we’re off to be seated. Much to our surpise, we’re in the second row. I can’t for the life of me figure out why we got put there, but we didn’t complain… except that we soon realized that all the goodies they threw into the audience were only for the people behind us. Is it greedy to want both? Nah.

It was fun to see the show live (although I don’t think I’d do it). Those huge robot camaras are awesome. I wasn’t that psyched to see Joy Behar, but she was actually pretty entertaining. I didn’t get to ask my question. Boo.

4:15: We realize that we are not getting any goodie bags or other free shit and are sad.

4:16: They usher us out of the room just as I see Miss Daisy on the top row. I tried to wave, but since she doesn’t know what I look like (no pics of me on the Web just yet), she probably thought I was loony. Ha!

4:20: Me and bridesmaid munched on the trial size Go Lean bars they handed out (OK, I guess that was free, but I swear it doesn’t count) and laugh about what a silly afternoon we had.

Here are a few extra pics:

This is what the set looks like with lots of crew on it. It felt much bigger in person for some reason!

Here’s Martha! Sadly the guy in front of me put his hand up at the last second. Grr.

HOW FUN! I love Martha’s mag!

Here’s a cool website I found for those looking for special cookie favors - and they’re cheaper too!

http://the-cookie-company.com/home.html

I was given a sample cookie with our school logo. Quite Tasty!

I’m gonna get me a shirt that says, “Martha is my homegirl.” I love her.
