It would of been my 25th birthday this year. My boyfriend (at the time), my parents, and myself went to Walt Disney World from Jan. 28th through Feb. 1, 2006. We arrived late afternoon on the 28th, bought our tickets and went to dinner. The following day was my 25th birthday. This also was Larry’s first time to Disney and my eleventh!
During the day we went to the Magic Kingdom and it was so magical seeing Larry’s eye’s light up like a little kid! That evening my parents and Larry made surprise reservations for dinner at Cinderella’s Castle. So we went back to the hotel and showered and changed. My parents got dressed up and Larry was wearing a shirt and tie (I thought this was a little weird)!
We showed up at dinner and had our pictures taken with Cinderella before we were seated. During dinner my parents and Larry gave me my gifts, followed by a birthday cake, and a flower arrangement which looked like Cinderella’s dress with a glass slipper and tiara on top. I was completely shocked!!!
I thought my parents had arranged all of this. I read the card and it said “May your 25th birthday be filled with magical moments and dreams that really do come true. This is your crowning moment. Love, Your Prince Charming, Larry.” Larry had arranged with the Disney florist before we came down to send me this flower arrangement! I had tears in my eyes. Larry put the tiara on my head and my mother took plenty of pictures.
After dinner we got front row seats to see the Make a Wish Spectacular Fireworks in front of Cinderella’s Castle. We waited about 1 1/2 hours before they started, and Larry and my mother kept getting up and leaving to go to the bathroom. Fireworks started at 8pm when Tinkerbell appeared and started magically flying down from Cinderella’s Castle. “When You Wish Upon A Star” was playing, and Larry turned towards me and told me to close my eyes and make a wish. He said he was going to make a wish too. He told me to open them and asked me what my wish was. I was kinda at a loss for words… then Larry got down on one knee in front of all of Disney and said “My wish was to enter Disney World with you as my girlfriend, and to leave tonight with you as my bride-to-be!”
Larry went on about how much he loved me, and how we fit together and knew in his heart I was the one for him. I was crying so much… I said “YES.” We stood up hugging and crying and everyone around us was clapping. My father caught the whole thing on video and there was a professional Disney Photographer that took our pictures.
Later that evening when we got back to our hotel room Larry handed me the ring box and told me to open and read what it said inside (since it was dark when he proposed). It read “trade this in for the ring of your dreams!” Larry had gotten me a cubic Z ring and I hadn’t realized it for the whole evening until we got to our room!!! Needless to say when we returned home on the Feb. 1st we went right to our jeweler and picked out my ring. I can truly say I got the most magical proposal ever!!!
