Nightmares Part III

September 15th, 2006 @ 1:31 pm by Mrs. Butterfly

I think I may be more stressed out than I thought. I don’t feel stressed and I work very well under pressure. In fact, I do my best work under pressure, and I thrive on it. But apparently, all the stuff in my life right now is causing me stress. My dentist told me that I cracked a filling last month because I grind my teeth at night. Teeth grinding is a sign of stress, and I never used to do it before.

And now, I’m having nightmares all the time. Last night’s dream was nothing compared to the one two nights ago, so I wasn’t at all panicky when I woke up. But it still wasn’t good.

It’s a few days before my wedding, and one of the executives at my work wants to invite herself. I somehow can’t say no, and before I know it, her entire family is invited to my wedding (ex husband, and 2 kids). I’m collecting all of the names of the people who are coming, and it turns out to be over 110 people, which is way over what I had budgeted for. Luckily my venue makes all of the accommodations.

My venue, is no longer my venue. My wedding is now taking place in a very large conference room - one of those conference centers in a hotel. There is a podium and a large screen in the front of the room and I am sitting with the executive with her family. At first things are OK, but then her ex-husband starts asking me questions on the mike. I am drunk in my dream so I can barely understand him.

Then I realize that my family is not there. Not a single one of them. I start panicking and wondering where they are. I go outside of the conference room to find them. They are not there. They have already missed the ceremony because it’s reception time. I walk back into the conference room, and there is absolutely no music playing. People look so bored. So I scream out “can we get some music in here!!?” Really cheesy music starts playing and I start dancing. A few people join me, but half heartedly.

Finally, my entire family walks in 2 hours late. The dinner has already been served, and there are may 15 people left at the wedding. Everyone had left because it was so boring.

This is when I wake up. To be honest, I am terrified that no one will have fun at my wedding. I still haven’t picked song lists for the DJ and I know everyone has totally different taste in music. I don’t want anyone thinking that my wedding was boring.

I don’t know why I am having these nightmares all of the sudden, because I really haven’t done any planning this week. Maybe it’s the guilt of not doing anything…..hmmmm.

Either way, tonight, I am hoping that I have a good dream. I don’t think I can take anymore drama in my head. whatevah1.gif

Buy a ton of alcohol and play really cheesy music and anyone who doesn’t drink kick out. Everyone who’s there will be having fun.

Seriously, I don’t think it’s something you should worry about. People are not going to be bored…they came to celebrate your new life and I’m sure that’s exactly what they’ll do. No worries…just enjoy the day!

I think brides have these dreams because we try soo hard to make everything perfect that at some point in time, the not so perfect wants to show its presence in a dream. I just don’t why how they can be so realistic, but yet that dream with David Beckham was so fuzzy.

peachy

i had a dream a few weeks ago that the photographer AND videographer didn’t show up… and i was so super sad that we had to go ahead with the ceremony without any way to visually preserve what happened.

i woke up very sad.

then… my fiancee had a dream last week that he was getting married… to a face-less person, who wasn’t me! all he remembers is that he was wearing jeans and it was at a convention center and she was wearing a kimono - totally random, because we’re not japanese… we’re korean!

i guess if it wasn’t such a wedding, i might’ve gotten a little mad, but he said it was such a bizarre dream, it made him laugh at how ridiculous it was… and he promised he wasn’t having cold feet or second thoughts.

I didn’t think I was stressed until my hair started falling out in clumps 2.5 months before my wedding. Everyone said “Oh, it must be stress” I said “The only thing stessing me out is my damn hair falling out!!!- and maybe my stepmother, that beyotch” I went to a whole bunch of doctors and had tons of blood tests… the results? I was probably stressed. Now, the invites have gone out, everything is falling into place, and I just came from my hair trial where the stylist said “wow- your hair looks really thick and healthy.” About a week ago, it just stopped falling out. Don’t know why… I’ve done everything from vitamin and mineral suplaments, Chinese herbs and shampoo, andmost recently, a product called Nioxin, which I think is responsible for making my hair look so nice and full. …I won’t even go into my nightmares… Yikes.
