In today’s beehive:

StyleGraduate has a friend that needs help finding red (apple-red, not wine or burgundy), knee-length or tea-length dresses that are under $150 and aren’t “bridesmaid dresses” because the maids are very petite and the dresses would require significant alterations.
Lixue wants to know the best way to get toned slender arms. She has about 4-5 months.
JL wants to know if venues offer different (and cheaper) children’s menus.

Can somebody help me find bridesmaid dresses for my friend’s wedding? She is looking for red dresses, knee-length or tea-length, that don’t look too much like “bridesmaid dresses”, and that come in under $150. She has 2 size 0 �‚��œmaids, and one size 6. And she wants apple-red, not wine or burgundy. Any suggestions?

Try Bill Levkoff. He has tons of colors, and you can order his dresses for $120-150 at shops like RK Bridal or Pearl’s Place.

So I guess I’ll clarify a little bit - because all of her maids are short, she was hoping to find dresses that aren’t actual bridesmaid dresses, because they would all require significant alterations. (Although some of the barijay dresses are gorgeous!)

I have a question for the beehive! What is the best way to get toned arms? Everything else could be worked w. cardio and jump roping, but slender toned arms are a must…and I’d like to get ‘em in about 4 to 5 months.

Some bridesmaid dresses come in petite, so that might be worth checking on.

bar dips and pull ups are the best for toned upper arms!

look for an assisted pull-up machine — the weights help you get started, and it also helps you keep track of your progress. stairmaster made one called the gravitron.

JL - yes most definitely! Our venue offered childrens meals that were at least half (maybe it was even less?). Choices I believe were chicken strips and cheeseburgers with french fries and something else I forget. i’m sure your venue can work something out with you. =)
