To get to Martha’s Vineyard for Hylton and Mimi’s wedding, Mr. Bee and I drove to Quonset, Rhode Island, parked our car, and took the hour and a half long Vineyard Fast Ferry. There are ferries that depart out of other locations, but Quonset is the closest to New York City (approx 175 miles).

It was quite a journey with us missing the last ferry the day before the wedding due to traffic and rain, so we were very happy to check into our room at the gorgeous Mansion House Saturday morning. They had even upgraded our room to a penthouse, so we had two adjoining rooms with a living room and a bedroom - yay! Wonderful service and experience all around - very highly recommended!

After checking in, we headed downstairs to the hotel restaurant, Zephrus, where I fell in love with these jar mugs. They’d be so cute for serving lemonade or iced tea at a country/backyard wedding. I’m going to purchase some myself when I find them!

Fast forward to the wedding reception later that day. Mr. Bee and I saw a little public park across the street from the reception venue.

The bride and groom. This is the first wedding I’ve attended where the groom and groomsmen wore light colored suits. I loved them - so crisp, clean and venue appropriate.

I wish we had had more time to explore Martha’s Vineyard. It’s such a quaint, relaxing, wonderful place to visit and Mr. Bee and I had a fantastic time. Thanks Hylton and Mimi for having us be a part of your special day and giving us an excuse to visit Martha’s Vineyard for the first time. Every time we visit, we’ll be reminded of you.
