I have three addictions.

1. The piano
2. Hello Kitty
3. LIP GLOSS

I have a separate little makeup bag just for my lipglosses. My absolute favourite is Lancome Juicy Tubes in Hallucination. The colour looks nothing like the website - it’s ultra sheer, glittery and slightly pink. I wore it last year when I was in a friend’s wedding and when the other bridesmaids saw it, they put it on too! Now it’s part of my everyday lip colour. I was even thinking about wearing it for my wedding since my dress is champagne.

Another one of my favourites is Laura Mercier’s lipgloss in those tubes. I can’t seem to find it on her website, but it goes on so smooth and lasts such a long time. One of my bridesmaids also gave me a lipgloss set from Bare Escentuals. It came with a lipliner and a cute little gloss to match. I love it… Oy, I love all glosses.

As much as I love the expensive lipglosses, I can’t afford too many of them. I raid the drugstores especially when it’s buy one get one free! I have a collection of 5 lip glosses from Loreal ColourJuice - 240 Cherry on Top, 310 Raspberry Smash and my favourite 510 Strawberry Smoothie. I know that a lot of my friends hate buying drugstore makeup but I can’t complain about CoulourJuice. Maybelline makes nice ones too - I have Shiny-licious in 60 Strawberry Tart and 90 Melon-ball. See a theme? Yes I love fruity lipgloss. YUM.

My makeup artist friend told me that these are a fantastic deal since they have all the great ingredients that high end lipglosses have for a fraction of the price. Since I do put on lipgloss on all the time, it’s great on my wallet.

At night before I sleep I put on Prada’s Lipbalm. It always keeps my lips from chapping and drying out especially since it’s getting colder and the air is dryer. Sadly Prada doesn’t sell any more of their cosmetic line, but I have enough to last me a long while.

I find Vaseline is the greatest way to go for nighttime right before bed… no chapping, no drying! wake up and lips feel g-r-e-a-t!

Burt’s Bee’s Lip Balm is my absolute favorite chapstick for keeping my lips soft–an absolute must in NM’s dry climate.

My favorite lip gloss is Stila lip glaze. Love, love, love that brush applicator!

I’m a Mary Kay consultant, but I promise this was before I became one: I absolutely love the MK lip glosses! It’s not sticky and it lasts a pretty good while for me. Whenever my wedding happens, I’ll definitely use my MK line for my make-up.

I’m with you there about Hello Kitty. They just opened up a new store here in L.A. called Momoberry by Sanrio at the Beverly Center. It’s HK for adults.

It’s heaven for me. Let’s just say that I was there w/ the sales girl going over what I didn’t have in my collection of HK. I only walked out of the store w/ some HK tees and undies. So cute.

I really like the Make Up For Ever lip glosses. It’s a little sticky, but it lasts for a real long time. When combined with a lip liner base underneath, I find that nothing else seems to last as long. When it does fade, it leaves a stain on my lips, so I still have some color.

My favorite stuff is actually by Bonne Bell (yup the Lip Smackers people) it’s called Splash ‘n Shine. It goes on clear and shiny and is super great to put lipstick over because it keeps lipstick from being to dry and chalky-like. I used to scour Target and CVS to find it but then it hit me, they are discontinuing it! So I found it on Bonne Bell’s site and indeed it was being discontinued and on sale on their website so I stocked up. I bought $50 worth but it was all 1/2 price … my fiance freaked and didn’t understand why I couldn’t just find a new kind of lipgloss…he has no idea how long it took to find that one!

I am devoted to my Burt’s Bees balm of course but when it comes to looking shiny and fabulous, Bobbi Brown Shimmer Lip Tint in #5 Posey Shimmer.
It smells minty fresh and feels great!

You are so cute Miss Poppy, Hello Kitty =) I don’t apply lipsticks so lipglosses are my must haves =) My fave is the ‘raspberry plum’ lip balm from Bath & Body which have SPF 15, it’s YuMMie and no after taste =) For hint of color, I use Sephora’s Absolute Super Lip Shimmer, so far these two are the best I’ve used =)

My favorite lip balm is Kiehl’s lip balm #1. I’m an addict…so much that I get cranky if it is not around when I need it!

For color, it’s MAC lipglass and/or lipstick. Favorite color right now is Viva Glam V.

lilcee- i checked out that site and it is SO CUTE. ahhhhh i have got to stop buying hello kitty things but i’m addicted.

yummie - i love love love bath & body works. i haven’t used their lip balm but i abs love their lotions, foam soap and body wash in sun dried raspberries. mmmm it’s so yummy smelling too. so i imagine that their lip balm is yummy.

jenny - ohhhh bonne belle! i used to collect those and put it on my necklace!!! i’m sad they dont’ mamke it anymore since it was a huge part of my childhood/high school years.

Smith’s Rosebud Salve (the original, not strawberry) — get it at Sephora. 1 tub costs $5 and lasts me a year or longer…bonus, you can put it on rough elbows, knees, abrasions, etc.!

Is anyone else allergic to lip gloss? I think it’s something in that shiny stuff that makes my lips itch and swell when I put it on. However, I have only found that Biotherm lip gloss does not give me an allergic reaction. (I’m afraid to try anything else. :-() I’ve used Bath & Body Works and I think I used to use Lip Smackers. It’s weird because I used Lip Smackers all through high school. I stopped using it for a while, maybe a couple months and then I put it on again for a dance and then I was suddenly allergic to it and all lip glosses I have used after that! I wish I knew what ingredient I was allergic to, so I’d know what I can and can’t buy.
