I don’t know if I’m really going to call it “The Story of Us” but it seems like a good starting point. Now that my menus are done, the other side of the tented cards will be a short timeline.

We originally wanted to write a personal story about how we met, or how our relationship progressed, or something to that effect. However, as I was attempting to write our story, I discovered that I suck at writing stories. Mr. Butterfly, on the other hand, is great at them. Unfortunately, we honestly could not think of any story to tell. So we agreed on the timeline idea.

I don’t have any of the pictures yet, but this is the general idea.

Mr. and Mrs. Butterfly’s honeymoon destination: 3 nights in Puerto Rico at the Ritz, and 4 nights in Cap Juluca in Anguilla.

I don’t know if I will have room for the honeymoon destination, but I thought it might be cute to put it in there because everyone will be asking anyway. What do you think?

I just thought of a potential title you could put on it! My initial idea was “A Countdown to Marriage” or something like that, but then I thought…what if it was an actual countdown? You could put all the dates up there the way they are but put “9,021 days ago” by the day you were born and “1,184 days ago” by the day you met etc. down to “TODAY” for your wedding date! Just a random idea! But I love the timeline with pictures, so cute!

In my opinion, I prefer reading stories. I would think most of your guests would know of these dates already, or at least a general idea of the timeline, more or less. I agree with nhung, I like the story of how you two met, or the story of how he proposed. What would be even cuter, though, would be your and his sides of the story of how you two met! =D

in the Knottie bios of the week Bridestarr2 and bridestarr have a really neat folded picture timeline. With a ribbon to tie it shut. We’re thinking about doing that too. It’s an easier way to share your timeline (I’m not good at stories either!)

story versions might be too long though…some weddings have these stories where you’re just like….END ALREADY!!! xP

For my parent’s 25th anniversary I did the picture thing but added them growing up over the years..

I hope you find something taht suits you best!

I love this idea! I was looking for something to put in the centerfold of my programs and this is it! I think a timeline is easier to read than a story and easier to incorporate pictures with. I’m thinking of adding silly, inane facts along the way, details that you can’t really include in a story w/o writing a novel, like me being shot in the leg with a paintball….
