MAC Makeup & Tools

September 27th, 2006 @ 6:30 pm by Mrs. Bee

I took extensive notes of the makeup and tools Miss Snail used during Miss Butterfly’s trial makeup session this past weekend, because I thought sharing the tools with weddingbee readers might be really helpful.

Miss Snail did Susie (MOH) and Angie’s makeup below. They’re sitting in the back of a 4Runner because we rode ghetto style with 7 of us in the car.

Me, Miss Butterfly, and Sara (BM). I loved how everyone’s make-up turned out. In fact I asked Miss Snail to do my makeup for Miss Butterfly’s wedding! I did my own makeup below which is why it looks the worst! :P

I’m the picture freak of the group so I wish I had taken better and more close-up shots of the great job Miss Snail did on everyone. Unfortunately I was sick as a perro all weekend and didn’t have the energy. However I did keep an accurate list of exactly what Miss Snail used on Miss Butterfly:

All makeup is from MAC unless otherwise noted.

Skin

  • Clarins Eye Revive Beauty Flash
  • Strobe Cream w/ Brush 187
  • Prep and Prime in light w/ Bare Escentuals Concealer Brush
  • Under Eye Concealer - Shinto #4 & Gena Beige from RCMA Foundation Palette
    w/ Brush 194
  • Brushed lightly all over face - Shinto #1 & #2 from RCMA Foundation Palette w/ Brush 190
  • Down the center of the face - Mineralized Skin Finish in light w/ Brush 182
  • Outer light contour of face - Mineralized skin finish in medium w/ Brush 182
  • Lightly around face - Golden Bronzer w/ brush 150
  • Color and contour - Enriched Refined Bronzer w/ brush 150
  • Iridescent loose powder for highlight on eyes, cheek and nose - Silver Dusk w/ brush 160
  • Contour w/ Shinto #8 from RCMA Foundation Palette, going over it with MAC Taupe blush & Kevyn Aucoin brush
  • Blush combo - Armani Sheer Blush #2 and MAC Tenderling w/ brush 160

Eyes

  • Base eye shadow - MAC Orb w/ MAC Brush 232
  • Contour shadow - MAC Malt w/ MAC Brush 217
  • Inner Corners shadow - MAC Naked Lunch w/ MAC Brush 219
  • Outer Corner shadow - MAC Kid & Embark w/ MAC Brush 242
  • Browbone - MAC Vanilla w/ MAC Brush 224
  • Accent shadow - MAC Courage in Well Plumed Eyes Pallette w/ MAC Brush 252
  • Depth to Crease shadow - MAC Cork w/ MAC Brush 239
  • Brows - MAC Cork w/ MAC Brush 266
  • Eyeliner - MAC Fluidline in Dipdown w/ MAC Brush 266
  • MAC lashes #7 w/ DUO lash adhesive
  • MAC Mascara X

Lips

  • MAC Silver Dusk Iridescent Powder on lips to give a pop w/ Brush 224
  • Cremestick lipliner beurre
  • Lipgloss combo- Viva Glam VI & La La Libertine (Untamed Collection)

The only brushes I use are an eyeshadow brush, a brush blush, and an eyeliner brush so I definitely wanted to learn more about the right tools - now I’m going to stock up on everything!

ditto alessette. that procedure looks more complicated than neurosurgery. and, unfortunately, i probably lack the dexterity required for either. =oP

even with all that makeup it looked really light and natural! bridal makeup is really different from everyday makeup. if only i had miss snail’s skills!

why i can help kt! we bought her the kevyn aucoin makeup brush set for her birthday last year! But she also has a brush organizer from mac as well.

nt - i still haven’t heard from mrs. rose… i’ve seen her come online every now and then and i’ve tried messaging her, but no answer. :(
