Awhile back I had an idea to use peacock feathers in our wedding. I thought they would look beautiful with navy or teal or green dresses and beige linens. But… then we changed our colors and the rest is history. I forgot to blog about it until this morning when I was cleaning out my old “favorites” bookmarks (since I bookmark everything, maybe vaguely / kinda’ tidying is a better description). Anyway, here are some cool plumes I found:
From Oriental Trading Company: $7.95 for 24 pieces:

From Lamplight Feather: $48 for 100 pieces:

From Plumes and Feathers: prices vary depending on size and quantity

One of the girls I knew included a peacock feather in her invitations to display her color theme. She saved money on buying plain white invitations. She tied it all together with a blue ribbon that matched with the feather.
I love that I was trying to find a way to incooperate peakcock feathers into my wedding but it didnt work out either
i have never really notice the color scheme of peacock feather, but they really are lovely.
gorgeous!! i love peacock feathers. i’m thinking about ostrich feathers for our wedding. ivory colored to go with our elegant gold theme.
Lindsay, I’m going the ostritch feather route too. I’ve seen some fabulous setups done with them, like this one:

i went to a wedding where the bride incorporated peacock feathers into her bouquet and it was stunning! for anyone who wants something non cookie-cutter, i highly recommend it!
yay i wanted to do this so thanks for the links! i’m trying to think of more ideas on how to incorporate it….the colors are PERFECT for me, all the colors i love.
I am using peacock feathers for my centerpieces. Something simliar to ostrich feathers concept but with the peacock plumes….pic in my knottie bio
I am getting married in April at a local Zoo and am trying to incorporate peacock feathers into my invitation and my flowers. Thanks for the tips, please send me anything else you have! Here’s a site that has gorgeous invitations w/peacock feathers, a bit expensive but definitely distinctive! http://www.ranideshpande.com/WeddingStationeryNew/Quill/quill.htm
Here’s another site with some nice stationary and journals w/ peacock feathers~ http://www.thekrishnastore.com/Detail.bok?no=3973&bar=_shp_new
I am getting married in September 2008 and I am having a Peacock wedding - invitaions, working them into the bouquets, center pieces, and having the color scheme throughout! I thought it would be something different than the traditional fall themed weddings.
Kim,
There hasn’t been much activity on this page in a long time!! I am moving forward with the peacock theme as well, our wedding is in April of this year. We are also putting them everywhere!! I created our invitations from scratch and they turned out really nice! Let me know if you’re interested in more info….by the way, i found the cheapest feathers were at Ostrich.com. They just had a 1/2 off sale last week, too bad you missed it!
My family and I are planning a suprise party for my Nonnie’s 75th birthday…our theme is ‘Pretty as a Peacock’! I “googled” it and your page came up with these great sites! thanks!
could you provide me with some pics of your ideas. i want to use peacock feathers in my wedding as well.
Sorry Juel, I decided against using peacock colors and feathers for my wedding so I don’t have any new ideas. If I think of any I will post them though!
I am having a wedding with peacock theme and colors. I need ideas of how to incorporate peacock feathers into the wedding.
I am incorporating feathers into my bouquet (white ostrich) and peacock feathers into my bridesmaids. I am also using pew bows with peacock feathers coming out of the tops. i also created my invitations with real peacock feathers in each.
Does anyone have any left over peacock stuff from their wedding they want to get rid of?
My daughter got married March 24, 2007, her bridesmaids dresses were sapphire blue and we used peacock feathers with them. I would share pictures and possibly have some items to sell.
I am getting married in August of this year and I am also using peacock feathers. Sue I would love to talk to you about some ideas and possibly buying some things from you. My girls are wearing midnight navy dresses and I have ordered wildflowers for them with peacock feathers tucked in. However I am considering getting rid of their flowers altogether and giving them fans made out of feathers instead. We are getting married outside and August is such a hot month!

My wedding was last Saturday and the peacock them worked exceptionally well. Like I mentioned before, we used feathers in our bouquets which turned out beautiful! I’d be happy to share photos if you’d like.
As far as selling anything, everything we did was very inexpensive so I don’t think it would be worth it for you to buy them from me and pay shipping.
With the blue we used the copper and olive colors from the peacock feathers. I made pew bows out of ivory wire edged ribbon and put spikes of copper and olive ribbon in them as well as feathers. For the windows I made candle rings using the ivory, copper and olive ribbon. The bouquets and bouts had peacock feathers in them. At the reception. I used assorted clear vases covered with gold tulle and filled with peacock feathers and gold ting. I used tapestry that had blue, olive and copper in it on the food tables. and copper on the head table and runner for the other tables.
For those of you who used/will use peacock feathers in your weddings, did you make bouquets ONLY with feathers, or did you incorporate flowers also? And if you used flowers, what types did you select? Thanks!
We used in various places with the feathers, cattleya orchids, sweet peas, raniculas, freesia, seeded eucalyptus, bells of Ireland, viburnum, jade roses, and a bronze orchid (not sure of the name of it but it was excellent with the feathers.
Hello lovely ladies! I’m not too sure if anyone is keeping tabs on this conversation but I only stumbled on to it today after searching google. I live in Sydney, Australia and have only recently become engaged. My wedding venue has live peacocks cruising the grounds - a beautiful feature I couldn’t pass. I wanted to incorporate the peacock theme into my special day and have noticed a lot of you have offered to share photo’s but the problem is, I don’t know how to use this site…if that’s what you call it! How do I view pictures or make contact with others to get some great ideas? Thanks a bunch…I hope someone see’s my message ![]()
Happy Friday….well, it’s Friday evening here in Sydney….

Hi Sydney Girls,
I’d love to view pictures too. I’m getting married at Doltone House in Pyrmont and want ideas for something different.
Where are you getting married MrsMatysiakToBe?
Here’s a link to my wedding photos. You can see the bouquets in the Reception section. Everything I did was really simple as far as decorating, just did the pews with a simple bow with feathers out of the top, you can see those in the Ceremony section. I think i have a pic of the invitations I designed too, i’ll try to get that one up too.

Good Morning!
Thanks for sharing your photo’s with us Amanda - they looked fantastic. I loved your bouquets - never thought peacock feathers would work with such colours…but they did! I’ve been inspired…thanks very much!
Hiya Annette - my fiancé and I are getting married at Belgenny Farm, the house of Elizabeth Macarthur. It is a beautiful old rustic farm & vineyard at Camden…really stunning! There’s real warmth to the place and it’s very secluded - perfect setting for an intimate wedding. Have you any ideas for your wedding theme yet?
Kristy
Hey everyone! I am from the United States and I, too, am planning a peacock themed wedding in December. These have been really helpful.
In my bouquets and centerpieces I only used the peacock feathers as the main focal point and then filled them in with plain black feathers and the black calla lily. Actually, those might be dark purple - it is hard to tell. It really turned out to be gorgeous. Anyone able to find nice invitations with this hteme?
Hi Sarah!
There’s a beautfiul range of stationery that includes an image of a peacock feather - I’m considering using it in my invitations. Check it out -

Helloo Ladies,
I am also having a peacock feather-themed wedding, in September 2008. Thanks for all your comments and ideas! They are so helpful. Does anyone else have any pictures of centerpiece ideas?
I am still working on my centerpieces, so I don’t have any just yet. I will try to get those sent in soon. There have definitely been some great ideas on this page! Someone found a great article in the wedding magazine maybe “creative weddings”? I am not sure of the exact name, but it was the current issue, which may have been June at the time. If anyone finds that issue, would they be willing to mail me a copy? I am in the US and cannot get that magazine here. Of course, I would pay any charges. Help???
Check out this link for ideas for arrangements http://www.ostrich.com/events/flower.html
depending on your colors, there are some really cool things you can do for centerpieces. I just came across this section of the website and thought you may be interested.
FYI: Go to ostrich.com and sign up for their email list. They have great sales and send you emails for 1/2 off feathers! This is where I purchased my feathers for my wedding and they were beautiful.
Hi Sarah,
I will scan and email the images of the peacock theme in creative weddings - I got the magazine last week and the spread was awesome - so gorgeous and bright! There are several pages….I’m sure you’ll be as inspired as I was. I can be contacted at kristynrick@yahoo.com.au if you want to send me a quick email - save us both time and postage costs!

Hello everyone!
I just got engaged on Friday and I am so excited! I have been wanting to encorportate peacock feathers into my theme just like all of you! We’ve been taking about our wedding for awhile not and we know we want something different and I thought this would be perfect! Any photos or Ideas you have would be greatly appreciated!!
I found thid FANTASTIC cake on http://www.celebratecakes.com at the bottom of the page. If you click on it, it actually gives you a great big picture. I think I might use it or some variation of it. I decided to use short round vases for each table (so guests could see each other) and then make huge over-the-top ones for the food tables and entry table. It looks pretty cool. I will try to get some pics… Also, someone had the idea of putting a peacock feather in the actual invitation - sounds cool. I also went to Hobby Lobby (a craft store) and found peacock feathers that have attachments to make jewelry or hairpieces out of - I am definitely going to do somethign with that! I am wearing a light tan satin gown that matches the inside bronze in the feather and am using the same fabric to drape some of the tables with. I will forward any pics I get on to you. Good luck!
Congratulations McCaulie, how very very exciting! Make sure you take the time to enjoy the moment…the initial anticipation is the absolute greatest feeling on earth!
Sarah - sounds like some fabulous ideas - I like the idea of matching the bronze colour of the feathers.
To all the lovely ladies who emailed requests for the Creative Weddings article - I’ve sent it through to you all via email tonight. If I’ve overlooked anybody, I’m terribly sorry - just send me a friendly reminder and I’ll get it off to you straight away
Sharing is caring ladies - if anyone has anything please feel free to give us all a squizz

I too am using peacock feathers in my wedding. I have designed my invites and my save the date magnets with pictures of peacock feathers. I am going to incorporate them into flowers for tables and bouquets and have used the colors for the bridesmaid dresses.
K-I would love to get a copy of the article from you if possible.
Good luck to everyone!!!
Thanks Kristy for the article! What beautiful ideas! I found a bridesmaids dress website http://www.ariasdress.com
they have a silk swatch called “peacock”, a really regal greenish color. i have decided on this color for my bridesmaids! check it out on the website, under the fabrics section. will take a leaf from sarah’s book and use bronze as an accent color, along with purple and royal blue. Can’t believe it’s starting to really materialize! Keep the ideas coming everyone! Thanks so much!
I am planning an Art Nouveau/Peacock theme wedding. Peacocks are a symbol of fidelity and were a popular motif in the art nouveau period. We are designing peacocks on our invitations and other paper goods. Our monogram is a peacock feather with a G (for our new last name) in the eye of the feather. Our card box is an ornate bird cage and we adhered a large faux peacock (from a crafts store) to the top.
Great ideas Shannon. I love the birdcage as a box idea. I found a great website at http://www.peacock-blue.com that makes hairpieces and wrist corsages out of feathers. I am having her make me a custom piece with peacock feathers. It is pretty neat. Check it out!
I love this post! Does anyone have wedding pics where this has all come together? I tried to click on previous post but it has expired. Thanks in advance.
Also, the most recent issue of The Knot magazine has a peacock spread. =)
Hello,
I am getting married July 08 and thought of the peacock theme as well. We are getting married outside in Vermont and the colors will just be gorgeous! While researching Peacock fabrics to make napkins…I came across this blog! How fun that we are all having the same unique theme. I too would love to see any pictures of weddings that have already happened. Does anyone have a link to blue/green peacock fabric? Thank you for all of your advice!
Can I also receive pics of any weddings containing peacock feathers? I am planning my sister-n-laws wedding for September 2008.
I would like to look at pictures of peacocks in wedding themes also. If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it.
You are all so lucky, a few months ago when i was planning the whole peacock theme wasn’t as popular…y’all have great ideas! I have pics of the invitations I designed for my wedding if anyone wants to see them. I just can’t figure out how to link them to this page…email me, amanda@le-roy.us
Hey Nicole,
As I live in Sydney Australia I can’t get a copy of the Knot magazine issue with the peacock spread - is there any chance you can scan and email the spread to me? Would really love to see it! kristynrick@yahoo.com.au.
Thanks a bunch…in advance ![]()
Kristy…I see you post here a lot…do you have any ideas (pictures) I can look at? Im having a peacock themed wedding in Sept….
Or does anyone have any thing they can send me?
Sure Ashley - send me an email and I’ll email you some articles
There’s another couple of sites that are good… if you’re looking for a cake topper I found one at: http://www.designsbydorian.com/Dorian/Peacocks_wedding_cake_topper.htm
and they have some decorative peacocks I’m thinking of using for decorations at: http://www.tonyhill.net/productCat99264.ctlg
Hope these help!
I’m planning a peacock themed wedding for May ‘08 and am looking for any/all ideas . . . from flowers, centerpieces, invitations, favors, etc. Any ideas/tips would be appreciated.
Hey ladies. I know that each of you are looking to use peacock feathers in your weddings. This past Christmas Target had used lots of peacock accessories for their Christmas themes. You might check Target again this Christmas to see if they keep it again this year.
oh, and instead of bubbles or rice, you could really throw it to the birds by using birdseed
Tis a small tradition in my small town anyway.
my son — a peacock by name — is getting married in june 2008. i’d like to do the rehearsal dinner with a peacock theme. i’d love to see the article in Creative Weddings. if MrsMatysiakToBe could once again be so kind as to scan the article to send it to me, i’d be thrilled. i’ll pass along any tips or info i come across. this is a great site for peacock inspiration. thanks to all.
Hello Peacock Mom!
What a fantastic idea - what better way to welcome your future daughter in-law into the Peacock family!

Hi Ladies,
I am recently engaged and loved idea of incorporating peacock feathers into the bouquets and centrepieces as we are having our reception in the Byron Bay hinterland with a lovely rainforest as a backdrop. I have looked at all the websites on this blog but would really love to see some “real life wedding” pics if anyone would be so kind to share them with me?
MrsMatysiakT - if you still have the creative weddings article could you please email it to me also? I would really appreciate it… nickylee27@hotmail.com
Thank you very much,
I look forward to hearing back from you.
Hello everybody,
It is so great to find this site! I got engaged this summer and now i am planning my engagement party / wedding. I would so love to have a peacock theme.
Any ideas or pictures of weddings with this theme? Please email me at rociokb@gmail.com
I would greatly appreciate it!!!!
Thanks,
Kathy
hello creative brides to be! I am getting married in April 08 and I thought my idea of a peacock theme was so orginal! But I am glad there are others to bounce ideas off of!
i actually found a dress for my bridesmaids in a print that resembles the eye of a peacock feather! I am so excited about those.
We are doing real peacock feathers in our invitaions and for bouteniers (sp?) for our grromsmen, in our bouquets, and for our centerpieces.
I would appreciate ANY pics or articles that anyone has to share! email me! Thanks!
megandicamillo@hotmail.com
I would love to see those bridesmaid dresses if you don’t mind sharing…
Also, I ended up finding peacock invitations at http://www.vistaprint.com that I am using. They are self-printed ones, so they were very inexpensive (I think I got 100 invitations for $80 or so), but when I was finished with them, the script font I used made them look really classy. Very fun!
I would also love to see the bridesmaid dresses. My wedding is in less than a month. We are doing dresses in teal, green and purple.
I used the design from Vista print as thank you cards and designed my invitations and save the date magnets.
We are using peacock feathers in the bouquets, boutiners and centerpieces. I will be happy to share pictures with whomever, once we get them.
These are my bridesmaids dresses! I absolutely love them and freaked out when I found them in the store. I am also doing solid dresses, same pattern, but haven’t decided which color yet. I am leaning toward a teal and maybe a bronze-ish…any suggestions?
Here is a closer look at the pattern.http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j157/meggyweggy16/mm3.jpg
Megan,
Your dresses are adorable. They fit your girls so well. I actually tried on a similar dress in orange tones at TJ Maxx (discount store). Where did you find those? I would even like to wear something like that to a shower/rehearsal dinner…..so cute. Keep the pics coming ladies. I am still a year out!
Thanks and best of luck =)
Hey Cassie,
Im curious as to what flowers you are using in the bouquet with the feathers? I orginally was going to just use the peacock feathers for our bouquets but decided against that but Im having a hard time thinking of flowers that would compliment the feathers the way they should be.
Let me know if you have any ideas.
Megan, I TOTALLY love those dresses!! Where did you find them??
Sarah,
I looked on Vista Print and didnt find any invitations with any sort of feathers on them…can I see the ones that you printed?
My sister named one for me if anyone is interested in seeing her version…just drop me an email at amcmahan@kdhe.state.ks.us and I will forward the sample on to you.
Megan-
I too would love to know where you got your dresses. They are adorable!
Ashley-
I am using white roses, blue hydrangeas and blue delphinium. For the tables I am using fresh potted herbs in pots terra cotta pots that we painted a champagne/bronze color and am putting feathers in the center. I got feathers from ostrich.com. I ordered the shortest ones (10-12) to use the eyes for the boutineres and 18-24 for the bouquets. The shorter they are the smaller the eye is as well. If you want a large eye, go with longer feathers.
I used these bouquets for inspiration:
http://weddings.theknot.com/odb/themes/realweddings/detailview.aspx?id=14315&type=3&wedding_details=Bridal+Bouquets%2cBridesmaid+Bouquets&pageIndex=5&MsdVisit=1
I hope this helps. Once I get pictures I will be happy to share with anyone who is interested.
Cassie
I found the dresses at a store called Group USA. I heard of them through a bridal show, and then went and checked it out. I got those in August. They did have the same pattern in orange tones, Nicole, and I tried it on, because I love this dress! The best part was how inexpensive they were.
Does anyone have any fun ideas for favors involving peacock feathers? Ostrich.com has such cheap ones, I figured why not try to fo something with real feathers…
We are using potted herbs with feathers sticking out for our centerpieces and then having guests take them home.
Thanks for the info about the bridesmaid dresses.
Megan,
Kristy once sent me an email of a beautiful magazine spread of tablescapes for one couple’s peacock wedding. Their favors were peacock feather pens. I thought they were really cute. They glued a peacock feather to a ballpoint pen and wrapped the pen with ribbon. Would be happy to forward you the spread if you’d like. I’m having a larger wedding so I’m scaling down on my favors. I’m just going to glue small peacock feathers to the tops of gold matchboxes. Then I’m going to take a few sticks of incense and wrap the box and incense together with a thin teal ribbon.
Oh, and just tried to visit the Group USA website and couldn’t pull it up!
Was I the only one with this prob??
Cassie,
Great idea with the potted herbs! My sister did the same thing last weekend at her wedding, but used orchids. They were beautiful, and the guests were really excited to take them home. The one from my table is now in my bathroom!
No, I had a hard time pullin gup the website too, but I finally got it to work and couldnt locate the dress.
Im just going to call them…Megan, do you remember how much they were?
Sorry, girls! I got the website wrong above. I can’t keep any of it straight anymore! Here’s the link to the invites…http://www.impressinprint.com/FILE-itemDetails_PID-8877.aspx
They look a little cheesy on the web but they are fantastic! I have recieved a lot of compliments on them. They also have note cards that match and I ordered them blank for the response cards and also with thank you on them for my thank yous.
Also, I found a great dress that I am using as my bridesmaids dresses. I got these in teal, but the flowers and feathers on them are awesom e - it really keeps the theme going.
http://www.cbslimited.com/bridesmaid-dresses/detail_bridesmaid_alyce_designs-1129
I ended up finding a hairpiece to match that I am wearing here:http://www.dragonwings.net/BigPhotos/Sweep1961.htm It was around $20, which is a LOT cheaper than the one I originally found.
At the reception hall, there is an entryway with a table for the guest book and stuff, and I found a vintage poster of a peacock and hung it over the table, then I put a vase with peacock feathers out on the table and in front of it I used a distressed gold frame and put this quote inside it: “The peacock is a symbol of fidelity: when a peacock loses its mate, it is believed to die of grief or live alone the rest of its life before choosing another.”
I used this quote throughout my wedding - my favor is a CD of both our favorite songs, so on the CD I printed a peacock feather, and the cover of the case is this quote again, in script writing. then I tied a feather (a short one I had to cut) around it. It turned out great!
The flowers I used to go along with the feathers are sage colored hydrangeas and roses (fake, of course) and I also added the same flowers in deep purple and a steel bluish color that has the ends tipped darker. I basically used one of each color (they are pretty big) and then filled everything around it with the peacock feathers and I also used some sticks I found at the craft store. Really cool… I will try to get some pics soon. Hope some of this helps!
The dresses were only $50! But you can’t buy them online, actually I don’t even think they are on their website. You can’t order anything form their site. I had to have them search at other stores for the right sizes for my BM’s. But well worth the work!
Megan,
Would they let you order them at the store or was it you actually had to go and find them ar each individual stores?
Ashley,
I found them at one store, but they didn’t have enough of the sizes I needed. So I spoke to the manager, they called around to their other stores around the country and located the dresses for me and then that particular store shipped them to me. I had to pay extra for the shipping of course.
Please check my web site after november 18 2007 for a beautiful peacock gazibo http://www.innasweddings.com
I am so happy I found this site. My fiancee and I recently got engaged and are wanting a peacock theme for our wedding because his last name is Peacock. We really want a simple but elegant and not outrageously priced wedding. We also don’t want the entire wedding over run with peacock things, basically just the colors and a few feathers. Our colors are going to be Indigo, aqua, bronze, olive and teal. Colorful, I know. Any tips or ideas would be great. Oh, our wedding date is Aug. 8 2008 (8-8-08). Thank you. Trina
I found this dress in my search for more dresses for my bridesmaid. If you are up for printed bridesmaid dresses ( kinda like mine) this is a CUTE CHEAP dress. Check out this link.
Trina, it might be good for your colors…

Sorry my email is peter@legacybrands.com.au
I hope you are not sick and tried of sending this article to everyone, but everyone keeps talking about it!
Has anyone ordered peacock feathers from Ostrich.com? I am wondering how big the eye of the feather is on the 10-12 in. feathers. If anyone has ordered those can you let me know the diameter of the eye? thanks!
mea don waste your money with tem go to ebay and to a comnay caled feather store .com they havea good price and I aght mines for my weddin with them nd they gave agood price i purchase 300 feathr for $100.00 incding shipping and handdlin and not the littkle one ut he big ones 35 to 50 they were beautifull with big eyes on them
Michaels.com (and in N. America stores) has a huge assortment of peacock trimmings meant for x-mas, as well as sparkly leaves in teal, royal, silver and gold. Also if you go to http://www.save-on-crafts.com, they have pretty teal sparkle calla lilies. I’ve been looking at getting rhinestone trinket boxes (amazon.com) that have a peacock on them for my bridesmaids. My wedding is going to be in Apr. 2008 and am having navy as my main color with peacock feathers as an accent piece in the centerpieces and flowers/boutenierres. navy invitations with white wording (the rsvp are white so guests can see their writing on them!!) I’m having the reception be very jazz/cabaret oriented with a band that is only going to play frank sinatra style music… pretty psyched! ![]()
Megan-
I ordered feathers from ostrich.com. Spent like $30 for close to a hundred feathers. The 10-12 had smaller eyes, which we used for boutiners. I also ordered the 18-20 inch and would recommend those for centerpieces, bouquets, etc. Most of the eyes were a good size and worked great for the centerpieces, bridal and bridesmaid bouquets.
hey I GOT TO FINISH ALL MY NAPKINS FOR THE WEDDING PLEASE LET ME KNOW .
Also my centerpices please let me know how they look . my link
Hello everyone!
What a surprise it was to see so many other ingenious brides who also want to incorporate a peacock theme into their special day!
My wedding is in April of 2008 (yes right around the corner) so my planning is full speed. Because of this I greatly welcome any and all pictures of ideas incoroprating feathers, plumes, into wedding decorating. Also if anyone would be so kind Id love a copy of the Creative Wedding Artice and the link to the spread that was on The Knot.
Again please send me any pictures you may have, Id really appreciate it.
My email address is gcastelluccio@yahoo.com.
Thanks I hope to hear from you soon!
I’m doing a peacock-inspired wedding in May ‘08, too. I was planning on incorporating peacock feathers into our wedding invitations, and our bridesmaid dresses will be shades of blue, royal blue, teal, purple and emerald green (I have 8 girls).
Cheers to all you other ladies - happy to share anything I have via aphilauren@yahoo.com!

I am having my 40th Birthday Party with a peacock theme. I found peacock picture frames at Pier 1 they are adorable!
I am having a peacock theme too! I had no idea that it was so popular. I love birds but was not sure how to incorporate the theme until i saw a picture in a bridal mag.
Does anyone have any suggestions for favors that are inexpensive?

Hey Ladies,
My fiance and I have potponed our wedding and we aren’t setting a new date for a while. This throws a spin on things with my bridesmaids, so I am selling my bmaids dresses and starting over whenever we reset the date.
If you are interested, I am selling them for $50 (plus shipping). I have two dresses, one medium and one small. I was going to have the other girls wear solid dresses that matched the colors in these. Please view the pics and email me at: megandicamillo@hotmail.com if you are interested.
I know it’s been quite some time now, but I’m just now getting on the peacock train. Can anyone send me any of the spreads, ideas and/or pictures to cmoore.english@gmail.com ?
I thought my Peacock idea was original, guess not, hehe…
I would love to see any pics anyone has of their peacock themed wedding or if anyone would be so kind as to email me the magazine spreads mentioned that would be fabulous!! In return I promise to post my peacock ideas once I have some pictures, Thanks!

Hi ladies! What great ideas. I’m engaged and our wedding date is October 2008. I’m planning on incorporating peacock and pheasant feathers in my rustic but elegant and kind of organic wedding. Not sure what kind of picture I just painted for you. Right now my ideas for peacock feathers is to use them in the centerpieces along with birch branches. You know, the kind you find in the floral department of a craft store? My BM dresses will be teal. I also found great Christmas ornaments (balls covered in teal peacock feathers) They are gorgeous! Our venue is really rustic (indoor/outdoor) paviliion with lots of wrought iron, wood and granite. Colors will be teal, cream and brown. I want the peacock feathers for the punch of color.
Any information that can be forwarded, the knot article, etc….please help a sister out. I would really appreciate it.
Send to garzagirl@mac.com. I’ll forward any ideas or pictures I can come up with. Thanks to everyone.
My wedding is in May of 08 colors are green, teal, and blue. I found some peacock feathers now would like to incorporate them into my wedding would love the info from knot and any other ideas. If I come up with anything interesting I’ll pass it along my email address is chimerejoy@yahoo.com
I have planned on a peacock wedding since I was little! My grandmother has peacocks, and I’ve been collecting their feathers forever! I thought I was being original too! Can someone please send me the magazine spreads?
Thanks!
Hello, I am having a wedding in April ‘08 and i would like for someone to please send me the Creative Wedding Article and the knot link.
Hi,
I just ran across this website while looking for inspiration for my peacock themed wedding. Boy have I found inspiration here!!!
Sarah, the pictures are beautiful and what great ideas! Like others I would love to see the Creative Wedding Article in the Knot. Would someone please send it to me? distance2here02@yahoo.com
I looked on their website but didn’t see anything. I can’t wait to start planning for my Sept. 08 wedding.
Thanks!
Like many of you…thought I was being original…idea came up when I started with my colors and then ordered a birdcage veil with peacock feathers and BAM the idea came to have paper japanese lanterns as “vases” as my centerpieces with peacock feathers coming out….from there I just kept coming up with more ideas (including my peacock hand fan as a bouquet). My wedding is 7/4/08 and would love to be kept in the loop with any new ideas.. allison.bogosian@gmail.com
I found an article with a couple of ideas but I really don’t think it’s anything we haven’t discussed on this blog.
Can a tropical paradise theme also use peacock feathers because the more I google wedding themes I’m now torn between the peacock theme and tropical??????
Chimere yes you can use feathers on a tropical theme wedding just add tropical flowers tothe arrangmetns and it will make it look a lot more exotic . remeber tropical means alot of exotic foliage and flowers if you have any questions please let me know
i will be happy to help you

Hello all!
I am coordinating a corporate event, and am using the peacock theme. We have done so in the past, but I want to incorporate the theme a bit more into centerpieces this year. We have 55 cocktail tables, as well as needing some elements on the bar area. If anyone has any input, articles, photos, etc. That would be great. I saw a lot on here regarding an article in the Knot, I would love to see that!
Thanks so much
Hi,
I too am thinking of a peacock themed wedding. I just got engaged New Years Eve. I didn’t realize it was this popular. I would appreciate any pictures or creative ideas to incorporate peacocks that anyone may have, booket36@hotmail.com Thank much!!
My mind was just going on and on with the peacock idea for my apple green and aqua blue colors for my april 2008 wedding. Do anyone have any center piece ideas, preferable something that guest can leave with? or any pics? If possible can you send it to cruzkimbee@hotmail.com
I have been planning 04/26/08 peacock wedding for a year now.
My bridesmaids will be carrying fans instead of flowers. I ordered these from a nice woman in England. She also made a beautiful ivory feather headpiece for me.
Peacocks lean towards nature so for favors we are giving geodes that the guest take home and break open to find crystals. Also, we will be using disposable bamboo plates and utensils for dinner that break down with no negative impact to the environment.
http://www.physlink.com/estore/cart/BYOGeodes.cfm
http://www.bambuhome.com/html/prod_veneerware_01more.html
Eye feathers are not the only option, there are also sword feathers. I will be using two short sword feathers in my bouquet of blue and purple flowers and also in the floral center pieces.
this is amazing I’ve been planning my wedding for a year now and am getting married on the 08.08.08 in italy at a vinyard, and thought I was original on the peacock feather and colorscheme idea….
anyway…
I am making my centerpieces with dried twigs and feathers for a rustic look. and had peacock feathers melted into candles for the tables as well…
My bridesmaids have peacock feather facinators… lovely…
my invitations are going out next week, made them from scratch using brown kraft paper and mulberry tissue paper, and of course each invitation has a feather tied with ribbon and a waxseal… I’m telling you, I will never again make 210 wedding invitations from scratch!!! The placecards all have miny feathers attached to them, not full eyes….
I would love any photos ideas or other info… joicoolraoul@hotmail.com
I have to say I havent found cheaper than EBAY FEATHER STORE! and they have lovely died ones as well… My colour scheme is Brown Copper Teal Turquise Green and Black.
Hello! I too thought I was so original with my peacock theme. This website was so helpful. Our wedding is in November and I didn’t want the usual fall colors. I am also trying to incorporate carnival glass into the centerpieces…. It’s a beautiful complement to the feathers. You can find it on ebay or at pretty much every antique store. If anyone has any additional ideas or pictures I’d love to see them! E-mail me anytime! THANKS =)
Jo,
Can you share pictures…
We would really appreciate it.
Congrats!
Hi Ladies…
I would ike to thank each and every one of you for sharing your ideas… I LOVE them…
I’m getting married in Nov 2008 and your ideas have given me so much inspiration…
Any articles that you have scanned would be very much appreciated. I will happily send anything that I find.
Thank you so much xxx Ellie
Hi Ladies,
I’m planning a peacock themed wedding in combination with a caribbean theme! My main colors are expresso (dark brown), dark purple and teal. I love all of your ideas and I am looking for pictures to give me a visual on ideas for bridemaids bouqets and reception decorations. Any ideas? Please email me at donnaleary1@hotmail.com.
Thank you!
Hi ladies,
I’m from Trinidad in the Caribbean and I’m getting married in April. I love the peacock theme and decided to do it. I have found this blog so helpful cuz I got so many ideas from you guys. Thnx a lot.
I would like to do table numbers with a peacock-themed background. Does anybody have any images that I can use? Also, I’m at a loss as to what to give out as favours that match the theme. Any ideas will be helpful.
Thnx.
Wow Trinidad, wish I was in that heat now ehhehehe, I’m marrying a swedish man, its cold here in sweden.
I made wedding favours that were simple, a bit hippy, but lovely. I wrote a love poem and printed it on a nice piece of paper and put it in a copper metalic envelope decorated with some ribbon and one of the small plum peacock feathers that are copper and green, you can find 500 of them really cheap on ebay at the feather store. On the envelope I wrote “Everything grows with love. and inside together with the poem there are three small bags with lovely flower and herb seeds. I just found the idea romantic and simple. and I have to say CHEAP! What cost the most was the envelopes, seeds you can buy in big quantities for cheap also on ebay. Any flower you like. I chose morning glories cause I love those and then lavender as a herb because everyone loves it.
Personally my table numbers I wanted to be clear, there is already the center piece, place cards and favours that have the feathers on it, but I got them printed in the same color scheme as the feathers. and even though I dont have flowers in my center piece I found some great silk petals in brown, black and teal that suit the feathers so well so they will be scattered around.
JO,
Share a picture of your invites please. They sound like they are pretty neat.

Hello everyone! Just another person chasing the knot & the creative ideas article please.
rachaelobee@hotmail.com
For my centerpieces, i’m getting simple straight round vases, putting a ‘click to turn on’ LED light in the bottom facing up. Then half filling the vase with blue glass pebbles, and putting peacock feathers into the pebbles. then clicking on the light so that it shines through the pebbles giving off a pale blue light up onto the feathers. It’s easy to do, not expensive and extremely effective!
Anybody else willing to send off peacock ideas, I’d love to have them. My email is terricolesNOSPAM@gmail.com — with NOSPAM deleted, of course.
Hey everyone! I’m also doing the peacock motif, here’s my knot bio if anyone wants to check it out! I update it all the time…http://community.theknot.com/cs/ks/user/page.aspx?username=karissaRAQUEL
I found some GREAT napkins. They are rice paper, so they are thin. I bought them originally to use at the cocktail table. Instead, I used them on the tables under the centerpieces to help decorate.
The edge is scalloped and the gold on them is slightly iridescent. They would be great to wrap favors/candy in or to use for cocktail napkins.

I do have some time (May 09), but I would love to get the ball rolling. Any info can be sent to deaconfan22@hotmail.com. I would be extremely greatful!! Thanks!
Hi all,
It looks like I’m joining the bandwagon a little late! I had no idea peacocks were so popular. But I think that’s a great thing, because I found all your posts really helpful and informative. If someone could please send me a copy of article from The Knot, that would be really appreciated! My email is:

Thank you so SO much.

Again, I thought I was all original, but I’m happy I found you guys. I am desperately trying to get together centre piece ideas that incorporate peacock feathers, and I’m trying to do it on a budget. Any and all pics to give me ideas would be welcome!
Hi again…..I recently found the following peacock cake-topper
Check out their corsages and buttonholes.
Nice stuff. Probably a very easiy DIY.
Hope this helps.
For those looking for centerpiece options. I found these candles online.
I’m on a roll ladies….all things peacocks!
Ladies,
Wouldn’t this be a beautiful accent to a “pretty as a peacock” bride in a simple satin wedding gown?
Thanks for the email Kristy I really appreciate it! I found these invites…I am in love with the red ones. She hand paints it and can do them to your color scheme. She uses the original to make all the invites and then its yours. It would be a nice keepsake and would look great on a sign in table.

Hi everyone,
I am doing a sort of peacock theme. I actually chose an art nouveau inspired theme, so peacock feathers are part of that, but lots of other things too. If you’re interested in how peacock feathers tie into Art Nouveau you can check out trusty wikipedia…

I would love to see the knot website if anyone could email it to me?

I am interested in any Peacock themes anyone would like to share. I am helping a friend do a wedding for her daugher and she wants peacock theme. Thanks to all. Email address is malindac@landbtransport.com
my fiance and i are getting married august 2 this year. were doing a 50’s/classic/peacock themed wedding. big band music during dinner. peacock centerpieces. french veil. the works. ive been researching for months and thought id share my findings with those who share my love of peacocks.
i ended up making my own hairpiece with an ostrich feather and a small peacock feather but heres a good site with decent prices and inspiration. and the beloved birdcage veils…
http://www.unveiledbridaldesigns.com/page/page/3648009.htm
heres a nice centerpiece idea. simple not too much. when i told my fiance of my idea of incorporating peacock feathers his reaction was ‘dont turn our reception into a petting zoo.’
http://toastandtables.blogspot.com/2007/09/table-setting-inspiration-board-feather.html
hes a believer now.
my bridesmaids are in navy blue and my maid and matron of honor are wearing green sashes. theres feathers in all of the bouquets. behind the flower on the boutonnieres and corsages. on the pew bows. everywhere i could incorporate them without going overboard.
our favors also have a peacock feather eye fastened to a thank you note. we ordered organza bags in bulk in navy blue from myorganzabag.com for waaaay cheap.
we got all of our flower girl baskets and ring bearer pillows at hobby lobby and secured peacock feathers to them as well. every other week they have a 40% off one item coupon online. it saved us a fortune.
hope this helps.
I would love the articles too if someone would email them to:

If you are emailing anything, go ahead and send it to me as well! I would especially like the spread from the knot. Thanks!

I’m getting married Oct 2008, and using peacock feathers in the invite, the centrepieces, bouquets, and was thinking of also having some element in the cake. I don’t want to go overboard, yet I also don’t want to have too few details.
Once I have finished any of the above, I will definitely post pictures!

We got married in my parents backyard in November. Here is a link to our pictures: https://www.collages.net/consumersite/guestlogin.aspx?username=cassie+%26+glenn&password=11652. If anyone is interested in a copy email me at cassiopis89@yahoo.com. Good luck to you all! It was a blast and we got tons of compliments.
Also my email is cassiopia89@yahoo-sorry it is late and my fingers are not working very well. ![]()
Dominique was having a hard time getting onto the website with the pictures. Here is additional information that may be needed:

Peacock cake topper:
So I’ve been tracking this site for a long while and now that my ideas have taken shape I will share. Im getting married in an old church with euro courtyard reception in late July. The peacock theme is more for color inspiration, as i feel it can walk the line between classy and gawdy/costumey. So feathers will be used really thoughfully, but not a lot. I am embracing more the earthy tones for the setting, and the bright jewel tone (tea) only in the bridesmaid dresses.
Invites: My fiancee is an artist and is drawing a peacock and we are printing ourselvs and assempbling with paper and enclosure envelopes from Envelopments in a sagey green. Teal will frame the ecru colored invite on the inside. Gold wax to seal the enclosure with a cropped feather too.
Bridesmaid dresses: These are in the running, we may have them cropped short http://www1.macys.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=289104&PseudoCat=se-xx-xx-xx.esn_results
Feather as boutineer for men, and a few in the bridesmaid bouquets which will be ivorys and eggplant.
Tables: Sage green linens, gold chiavari chairs. I love the feather on the napkin, or may do them for place cards
No feathers in the arrangements or on the cake. Cake will have feathers iced on in frosting but in a simple dotted pattern so its not thick.
I’ll use an old antiquey cage as a place where people can put envelopes/cards as gifts through the slots.
Just some ideas…hope it helps you guys as yours have helped me!
Our wedding date is also 08/08/08 we are doing a 1930s theme and I am incorporating peacock feathers.
I found the following lavender filled peacock fabric pillows:

I am so happy to have found this blog. I am getting married august 03/08 and we have also decided on peacock theme.
My bridesmaid dresses are black, but each girl has a different coloured wrap (royal purple, royal blue, teal, and clover)
The boys bountineers are one feather and a single blue rose.
My bouquet is a peacock feather fan with flowers to match the bridesmaids dresses.
Our centre pieces are so simple! It is simply a clear vase with a long peacock feather wrapped around it, surround by blue rocks and candles!
I am just stuck on favors! Any ideas?
Hello All,
I just viewed The Knot on Demand where they highlighted 4 Hot Wedding Trends…..Including Peacock feathers.

Hello Ladies!
Just wanted to share with you the invitations that I’m making. Amanda was kind enough to share hers earlier, and hers provided my inspiration! They are simple, but elegant (I hope)! Hope this helps some of you!
those are beautiful invites Dominique! Probably very time consuming!

just some more peacock stuff hehehehehe
Hey Ladies…
Well, as I promised I have uploaded some photos of my invitations on my picasa website…
I’m a custom invitations designer, getting married this summer, and of course, doing a peacock theme… i decided to go full out and explain a little about this beautiful bird in the invitation.
The invitation is composed of thre parts, the actual invitation, in form of a small passport booklet since we are getting married in italy… The RSVP card and envelope, and the wedding guide with all the info on how to get there, where to stay, the program and some tourist info about the area in italy. The three things are wrapped in a sheet of black mulberry paper and closed with 3 colored ribbons, and a wax seal and a peacock feather. Each invitation also has been personalized with names on the outside of the wrapped package. (Also, we made french and italian translation sheets due to the fact that some of the guests do not speak english…)
Our wedding colors are black, Brown, Teal and Green. Decided to leave the teal out of the invitations so there wouldnt be too many colours.

I would love to help anyone that needs help with their invitations, I have such a big passion for my job and do so many styles, so just let me know…
joi@outroad.it.
Also, I would love the Knot and any other articles if anyone can send it to me… thanks..
by the way… those are the last bunch ehehehhehe, I made 162 invitations in all!!!! It was a real crazy ride!!!
Here’s my wedding mood board.
Hope it gives some inspiration. If you wanna know where any of the items are from, let me know.

I’ve been looking over this for a few months now. I ended up checking out the links for the fans made of peacock feathers, and I ordered some. The woman who makes these was delightful to work with, and she got them to me very quickly. Since some of the wedding party saw these, they’ve quit giving me a hard time about my “weird” ideas!
I highly recommend her. I also had her make the groomsmen’s boutonnieres, and they are great!
I’m getting married August 2, 2008. Our colors are espresso and teal, so I had her finish out the fans with the espresso (dark brown) ribbon, and they are fantastic!
Dominique - I love your invite idea! Where did you get your supplies?
Dominique i love the invitations!! how did you make those and where did you get the cards and feathers from?? did you glue the feather or just slide it under the ribbon?? thanks for the ideas!!
Anita
Hello Ladies!
To make my invitations I used tonyhill.net for the feathers, and neenahpaper.com for the paper. The feathers are the small ones, because I wanted small eyes. I’m getting my envelopes from envelopemall.com, and using a standard size 5 x 7 envelope to help out with postage. The printing is just from my computer, you can download some great fonts off of dafont.com. We ended up just choosing a regular script though. I’m not using response cards, the guests will be told to RSVP on our wedding website. The rest is just cut, glue, and repeat! Anita, to answer your question, the feather is slipped in between the ribbon. Thanks for all the kind words and let me know if you have any other questions! My wedding isn’t until Sept 27th, so this is definitely still a work in progress!
BTW, Jo, your invitations are amazing.
Hi ladies!
Everyone has such great ideas. I’m finally getting around to deliverables. My ideas are now becoming realities.
Check out my invitations. Still a work in progress. Confirming colors and fonts etc.

Let me know if this does not work.

Fun invites, I’d advise you to fade the background picture a tiny bit so that the text is more visible. But otherwise, very artistic and out there. Are you having an art deco wedding???

Thanks Jo. Agreed…text is hard to read. Like I said, still tweaking. This is the first draft. My wedding style would be more rustic. I’m incorporating peacock feathers, twigs/sticks, antlers….the wedding will be held at an indoor/outdoor pavilion with lots of wood, wrought iron and stone. I’ll try to put together my color/theme board and send pics as soon as I get to that.
Thanks!

Dominique - I love your invitation. What color paper is that? I went on the site but was confused.
Hey ladies! I am so glad I found this blog!
My fiancee and I are (almost certainly) having our wedding at the Grounds for Sculpture in Hamilton, NJ and they have wild peacocks that live in the park.
After visiting with my MOH yesterday, I thought about how awesome it would be to incorporate peacocks as our wedding theme.
I love all of your ideas and good luck to all of you!
Hi,
I too am hoping to incorporate some peacock into my August wedding. I’d love to see those articles from the knot and creative weddings if someone could pass them on. My email is aebvl@hotmail.com. Thanks so much!
@Wendi Leigh: @Elisa: If you are still looking for invitation alternatives, check out Peacock Pride Wedding Collection at:

Unique design, very elegant!
This may be a weird question, but do any of you know if the peacock feathers in craft stores etc. are real ones? I don’t want to incorporate the feathers themselves into my theme if the birds are hurt or killed just for their feathers. I still plan on using peacocks for inspiration (color, invitations, etc.) but I was just curious.
If they are artificial or gathered after the birds shed their feathers, then I would gladly use them.
Does anyone know anything about this?
Hi Elisa,
Rest assured, peacocks shed their feathers every year, so the birds are not harmed in order to get them. Our neighbors had a peacock for years, and they gave us the feathers, which we will be using in the wedding.
If anyone is still around and has the Knot spread or Creative Weddings spread, could you send it to me please? My email address is gypsy_morrigan@hotmail.com. Thank you!
I love this peacock idea (I’m getting married on Nov 1st 08)! Would someone be so kind as to forward me the Knot or Creative Weddings spread as well? I know I’m the 1,001st person to ask : ) novembercoin@gmail.com.

-Bridesmaids are wearing teal and will carry greenish bouquets with peacock feathers.
-Groomsmen will have mini peacock feathers for their bouts.
-Centerpieces will be green (orchids) and will have peacock feathers
-The card box is made from a birdcage and I’m going to attach a peacock ornament I bought at Target last Christmas
-My invitations feature a gold peacock feather and the envelopes are lined with peaock wrapping paper I purchased from Papyrus

Hello Everyone,
I am amazed about the creativity and ideas that have been posted. I also am using the peacock theme and will be getting married in Nov 08 in the Bahamas. Can you please email me any articles (knot and creative design) if still available. I will be using peacock feathers to accentuate my centerpieces and bouqets. Any other ideas please feel free to email me at brishawn@hotmail.com.
Dear fellow wedding planners,
I have just come across some cool new rubber stamps at The Paper Source (http://www.papersource.com). They have a peacock feather and 2 other coordinating stamps. My mom is a stamp fanatic so she may attempt to make my invites using these stamps with some fancy ink/powders. We’ll see what she come up with. I’ll share any ideas she comes up with.
I’m wondering if anyone could send me the knot and creative design articles. I tried to find through those sites but had no luck. I really appreciate it. You can send them to sswiontek@hotmail.com. Thanks so much and good luck!!!
Hi Ladies,
I have some ADORABLE dresses that would be perfect for bridesmaids(which is what I was going to use them for) or for you for rehersal dinner or your shower. I have two, one S and one M. They are BRAND NEW WITH TAGS, never worn. Click the link to see pics. I got so many compliments on these, and I am bummed to part with them but we have called our wedding off and I don’t want them.

Hi fellow beautiful blushing brides! Wow, great minds do think alike! Yes, I’m planning a peacock themed wedding in Nov ‘08 and reading all 200+ comments gave me some great ideas. Since our wedding is in the fall, I just think the beautiful, bold, rich colors of a peacock is very suiting for a fall wedding. I’m concentrating more on the deep navy blue as my base and teal, bronze & copper as my accent colors. That being said, the bridesmaids dresses will be navy blue in a tea length. That way it’s dark & elegant enough to wear again and not be so obvious it was a bridesmaid dress. The dark blue will also give me some room to play w/ bright colored flowers. I am a big believer in ’simply elegant’ so I won’t be over-doing it w/ the peacock feathers. With the rich colors, there should be just enough feathers so it doesn’t look like a peacock feather dropping just occurred. But thank you ladies for sharing all the other tips, websites, & ideas. I will be checking this blog periodically for more great ideas!
So I guess I’m the 1,002nd person to ask but could someone send me the Knot or Creative Weddings spread as well? Thank You!!!
Hi Ladies!
Only 136 days left! Everything is coming together nicely. Take a look at my invitations and some of the centerpieces. Imagine rustic elegance with a peacock twist.
Let me know your thoughts. I’m still looking for ideas and input.

Okay, this time with the link.

Hi Jackie,
You’re concept sounds beautiful, but unfortunately I wasn’t able to open your link.
(It could have to do with the fact that I live in China). I am getting married in Toronto in October and I’d love to get some inspiration.
Is it possible to email me your pictures?
I’d greatly appreciate it.
Lucia
Hi Lucia,
Please send me your email address and I’ll send you the best pics.

hi jackie,
can you specify what you used in your centerpiece (the names of what you combined) and where you got the stuff to make them? I’ve been working on the same idea, but haven’t been able to find a good place to buy dried twigs in bulk. I will post pictures soon.
let me know.
thanks.
Hi Carlin,
Best Wishes on your upcoming nuptials. I used twigs, peacock feathers and pheasant feathers (ordered from Ostrich.com), berry stalks, moss and glass vases. Most elements were purchased from our local craft store, Hobby Lobby. I frequently reviewed their online sales advertisement so that I would know when these particular products would be 1/2 off in order to save money. My bridesmaids and I put them together. You may have also noticed the globe candleholder, also purchased through Hobby Lobby. For some of my smaller tables, I am incorporating deer antlers with candles and beaded fringe for some sparkle. For my runners, I purchased several fabric shower curtains (the shower curtains were the only fabric I could find and liked.) My mom is sewing all the runners. My fiance is a hunter so I wanted to incorporate a little of him in the decor, hence the antlers and feathers. He wanted to stay away from the frilly look and feel of most weddings. I think I’ve accomplished that. The feeling will be rusitcally elegant.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
- Jackie
Hi Jackie-
Could you please share where you had your invitations designed or did you make these yourself? I love everything about them!
I too am going with the peacock theme and would love it someone could send me the knot spread and and the creative weddings article. Thanks! I’ll let you know of any ideas I come up with since I’ve just started planning, and pictures of real weddings would be great too. Thanks again!

hi ladies,
less than 2 months left until the big day! 08.08.08!
I keep thinking I’m forgetting something really important! I’ve really gotten to the bottom of all my ideas but still am happy that you ladies are sharing photos and so on.
thanks everyone!
My venue also had live peacocks roaming the grounds and peacock feathers incorporated into its decor, so I played off of their theme and added peacock feathers to my bouquet, the boutonnières, and the wedding cake. Instead of peacock feathers in the bridesmaids’ bouquets though they had white feathers with orange roses. Click on the “Details” section of my wedding pictures to see some of my ideas and then on “portraits” to see a picture of my bouquet.

Your invites are incredibly beautiful!!!
I used peacock feather with ribbon and a metallic brown paper. I thought it looked fantastic…..and then I saw yours:)
LOVELY:)
I too wanted to incorporate peacock feathers into my wedding. So far I have come up with the idea of putting each place card at the bottom of a feather and then spreading all of them out on the place card table so that they fan out like a peacock’s tail. That way they also double as a take home for each person as well.
Please, please, please send me a copy of the Knot and Creative Weddings spreads!! I’m desperate!
Thanks!

My fiance’s parents have peacocks on their farm and when I saw the bunches of them they had in vases around their house I decided that would be perfect for a centerpiece and now I’m just going from there. If anyone has any pictures of peacock themed weddings they would be willing to share, I’d love to see them. Thanks!
Hi can someone send me the Knot’s creative wedding spread regarding the peacock feathers.
e-mail me at:melissaabryce@aol.com
Thanks!
Hello all,
I am trying to get a few pictures and ideas on how to decorate a umbrella stroller for a wedding. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Hi,
I am trying to do ceiling drapes with tulle fabric for my mom’s party. The problem is what can I use on the ceiling/walls to hang the tulle from. We are renting a place where we can’t put holes in the walls or celing. Any ideas?
Thanks
Does the knot spread even still exist? I searched the website but couldnt find anything.
Hey all!!! I love that everyone has this idea!! I’ve had a crazy obsession with peacocks for a while now. There used to be a peacock farm near Bloomsburg University that I used to go and look at all the time and I’ve loved them ever since. Therefore, it was not a far stretch for me to want to use the colors and feathers, etc; for our wedding. Getting married 10/23/09 so I’ve got time but don’t want to hesitate….There have been so many great ideas posted and Jo, your invitations are breathtaking!!!! I also might as well be one of the ones to ask for the two infamous spreads from the Knot and Creative WEddings. My address is torkey17@ptd.net if anyone has them.
Here is a website with nice boquet ideas…it starts with the fifth picture and then some to follow

This is a website to order the actual feathers. I haven’t really looked around and priced so there may be other sites that are cheaper

The following website is for invitations..they have some beautiful peacock ideas. Click on Current Projects and scroll all the way down, just a little over half-way. There’s two samples, one titled Mindy and the other is Bethany
Those are some things I found thus far. If anyone has any other ideas to share, bring ‘em on!!!

Had to respond to Samantha’s post!
The woman who made that beautiful peacock feather pin has made some accessories for my wedding! Her name is Giao and she is awesome! Contact her on Etsy (gqdesigns) and she’ll make custom pieces for you. She made a birdcage veil for me (with bleached peacock feathers), a bout (with one bleached feather), and a few hairpieces for my little girls in the wedding. I’ve posted the link for you to see what she made for me. I’m very happy with the way it all turned out!

my invitations are also on the album. not as extravagant as jo’s (whose invites are awesome!), but i love them! Might be an inspiration for another budget bride!
Dominique
@Dominique:
Oh my gosh!!! I love the hair piece, I was going to use the colored peacock feathers, but my hair is so dark. The white ones were so pretty? where did you get the feathers?
Marlayna,
Thanks! I think she got those from tonyhill.net. Great site for feathers btw. The bleached feathers are actually like a champagne color. Really beautiful, but too dark if you’re wearing a white dress. My dress is ivory, so it doesn’t bother me! My hair is also very dark, so the contrast works.
@Dominique:
I was going with an ivory dress and i think these feathers will work alot better. Are you using the feathers in your bouqet?
@Marlayna:
Marlayna,
My bouquet is royal blue and purple, so I’ll be using a few natural feathers actually. But the bleached would be a beautiful addition to a lighter color flower!
@Dominique:
You don’t know how much you’ve felped me. I’ve got everything else pretty much planed, but I can’t decide on flowers. Stargazers are my favorite, I might try playing with those for my bouquet. But I want to put the feathers in them too. My bridesmaids I think are going to be all feathers, which will look really pretty against the brown satin.
@Marlayna:
My bms are wearing brown satin as well!
here is a link to a nice stargazer bouquet that i think you could put the bleached feathers in. http://www.clarkflower.com/wedding/weddingflowers.htm
if you were going with just feathers for your bms, feather fans might be an option. there were some on ideas ostrich.com
how do i unsubscribe from this blog. While the ideas on this blog are great, i went with something totally different for my wedding. I would like to stop getting emails everytime someone post. Thanks
Wow! I am so impressed with this blog and so many fabulous ideas. We are planning a 9-26-09 wedding with a peacock feather theme. I would appreciate any ideas and especially photos!
Hi ladies,
I just found this blog and am planning a 7/11/09 wedding and am planning to use peacock feathers. The ideas on here are beautiful, however, I’m trying to go with bright colors with my feathers like orange and pink, to contrast them…anyone ever see ideas with that color scheme?
FAO Joe i love your invites!! How much would £300 cost?
Also megan have you sold your dresses and how much are u asking for?
Wow… what a find! I thought I had a pretty creative idea with my peacock wedding!
Anyway… I want to put some feathers on my cake but I don’t want to gross anyone out. Does anyone know where I might be able to find some fake peacock feathers? Or does anyone have any ideas that might work??? My cake designer is worried the feathers might shed.
This blog is such a great find! I am getting married in the fall of 09 so my planning has just begun and everyone’s pictures and links are very very helpful! Thank you all so much :D! I would also like the ‘Creative Wedding’ spread if someone would be so kind ;).
Thanks!
Dena
Oops! Forgot to ask for the ‘Knot’ spread as well and my e-mail is dena128@ksu.edu. Thanks ladies!
If you search “peacock” on theknot.com and choose Allison and Scott’s peacock wedding there are a couple pictures. That’s all I really found on theKnot. If anyone has pics from their weddings that took place I’d love to see some, although I dont imagine you’d still be checking this blog!
We got married August 2. We used peacock feathers all over the place, and our centerpieces were Eiffel tower vases with tall peacock feathers and rooster tail feathers around the top of the vase. I have about 400 peacock feathers of varying lengths (they all started around 35″-40″ but were cut for varying heights in the centerpieces). We put individual rooster tail feathers on slim metal picks, and I have about 400 of those picks (about 6-7 feathers per pick), if anyone would like to use them. The centerpieces looked fabulous. We also had some green carnations right at the top of the vase, but the centerpiece could be duplicated without that. If you’re interested in purchasing some or all of the feathers, please let me know. Please realize that the rooster tail feathers will be more expensive than individual feathers you can find on the internet because they’ve already been put on picks. Believe me, you do not want to do that.
Anyway, just let me know if you are interested. I’ll try to post some pics when I get them!
I’ll sell them for $400 or best offer. The feathers and supplies for the picks costed me over $500. That doesn’t even mention the 30 hours or so put into making the picks (it’s horrendous work!).
If you’re interested, you can email me at graciemk@hotmail.com. Thanks!
This pic is the centerpiece my florist put together for me to approve. It’s the design we ended up going with. I don’t have pics from the wedding, yet, of the rest of the flowers, but I’ll let you know when I do!
In the meantime, our colors were teal and espresso (with gold as an accent), and the bridesmaids carried fans made of peacock feathers. My bouquet was cream calla lilies, green hydrangea, dendrobium orchids, and fiddle head ferns. My florist used some peacock sword feathers as an accent. I’ll post pics when I get them!
Sorry for the multiple posts. You can click on my name on the above post, or this is the link to the pic:
Hello All,
I too am planning a wedding for Sept 2009 and would like to incorporate peacock feathers into my bouquets and table center pieces. I would really like to use a peacock bordered “gretting card” fold paper for my programs. Does anyone have any suggestions? I got the idea to use peacock feathers since teal, silver, and chocolate brown are my favorite colors. Also looking for a really neat, inexpensive, unique, but useful idea for wedding favors. Any help would be much appreciated. I can be contacted directly at Lorijaywed@yahoo.com
You can check out the “detail” pictures from my peacock themed wedding here: http://eyeonphotography.fotki.com/personal/wedding-week/wedding-day/details/
I used them in my bouquet, on the sign-in table, and iin my cake. For the girl that said her cake bakery is worried about them shedding, I used about 100 peacock feathers and not one shed a piece.
Good luck everyone!
Nicole
Hey can anyone forward me the peacock, the knot, wedding spread. I too am having a peacock themed wedding. Thanks!
Lori
I bought the eye of a peacock feather rubber coaster off ebay with our names on them for 1.00 a piece for favors.
Lori
I bought the eye of a peacock feather rubber coaster off ebay with our names on them for 1.00 a piece for favors.
I saw those coasters on ebay. How did you get them for so cheap? What seller where they through?
I’m thinking I’d really love to have dark teal and chocolate brown for my colors. Is this too dark for a July wedding?
We just got married August 2. My colors were teal and espresso (kind of a rich bronzy brown), and I had the same concern. However, I think the place you pick has a lot of bearing on that. We got married at a place called the Tuscany, and the decor there is very simple and light (travertine floors, neutral colored columns, etc.), so the color really showed up without being overwhelming.
Anyway, as soon as I get pics, I’ll post some so you can see how ours turned out.
soo i was considering doing the peacock theme too and may still but while searching i came across these dresses which would be perfect for bridesmaids and they are sooo inexpensive too heres the link..

Hi,
I’m getting married next August and came across the whole peacock thing by mistake! I was trying to think of alternatives to flower centerpieces because I think they are too expensive for what they are and just thought how beautiful peacock feathers are and it really just grew out of that. I’ve found these on ebay for those who wanted some centerpiece ideas. For myself I will be going with bubble bowls with feathers twisted inside the bowl (you may have seen it done with calla lilies)

Hi Everyone, Wow I am so happy I found this blog about peacock feathers! Does anyone have any pics/ideas for making bouquets entirely out of feathers? Or pics of using a peacock fan in their wedding? I really like this idea and am trying to figure out how many feathers I would need to make bouquets.
I am planning on using peacock feathers to make my bridesmaid bouquets. I got a bunch of feathers from my fiance’s parents farm. I think in order to get a nice look you probably need at minimum 10-12 feathers. I’m planning on using a combination of eye and sword feathers and I have a few white feathers as well I might include just a couple for some contrast. Then I’m wrapping the bottom with ribbon in my wedding colors to tie (and hold) it all together. I havent actually assembled one yet, but i have a big vase full of feathers and the more there are the better they look in my opinion.
I used a lot of peacock feathers. If you want to see pics, you can go to http://www.shanrenee.com. Click on “Photographs”, then click on “View & Order”. Select “Jeremy & Valerie Wedding”. There are a lot of pictures, but you can see some of the peacock stuff in the formals gallery and some in the details gallery. Hope this helps!
@Valerie:
Your photos are beautiful, thank you for sharing them.
I would love to know where you bought your bridesmaids fans. I have been searching everywhere for them.
Thank you! We were really happy with how most things turned out. I bought the fans from a woman in the UK that makes them. I found her through ebay. I looked her up on ebay, and it says this:
LITTLE WORKS OF ART
ANNUAL HOLIDAY NOTICE ; LAST DAY FOR DESPATCH WILL BE MONDAY 8TH SEPTEMBER, RE-OPENING FOR BUSINESS MONDAY 29TH SEPTEMBER . THANK YOU PAM
You might try contactin her through ebay - her seller name is littleworksofart. The fans turned out FANTASTIC! I absolutely adored them. She’ll use whatever color of trim you ask her to. Hope this helps!
omg i’m so happy i stumbled upon this page. It’s super late at night, or early in the morning rather…..so i’ll post stuff later.
JO, is your website not running yet? I went and i can’t seem to get through.
Have a great weekend ladies ![]()
I would love to see pictures from all of you that have used the peacock feathers. I’m planning my wedding now and will incorporate peacock feathers and haven chosen colors from the feather. Please email me ideas, suggestions, and pictures, please @skired99@yahoo.com
Totally amazing! I, too, stumbled on this website. Planning a June 2009 peacock wedding. would someone please email me the Knot and Creative Wedding stuff. Sorry to be yet another to request it.
Send to minichairs@comcast.net
Now is a great time to pay a visit to a local craft store. Hobby Lobby or Michael’s. They are getting their Christmas stuff in and have lots of very cool peacock stuff.
Hello fellow peacock brides!
I had a peacock themed wedding last month, and have just received the wedding pics back from the photographer. Peacock feathers were incorporated in all my floral arrangments, bouts, hair accesories, and wedding favors. I also had bleached peacock feathers in my veil and on my shoes. You can view pics for inspiration on my wedding website:
http://www.septembertwentyseventh.com
click on “view/order wedding prints”
there, you have the option to watch the slideshow or view/order prints individually. i would recommend just viewing the prints, as the slideshow is pretty long and boring if you don’t know me. Hope it helps!
Hey Dominique,
I looked at ur pics-they’re great. Who did the hair piece that was on your veil-it’s so pretty!
Thanks Wendy! A lovely woman name Giao made that headpiece veil for me. She has an online shop on Etsy.com called qgdesigns. Per my requests, she hand made my veil, my husband’s bout, the flowergirl headbands, and the jr. bridesmaid’s hair piece. Everything turned out awesome! Have a looksee! She’ll make you whatever you want, and is amazing with feathers

Hello All,
I was just married on October 18th and incorporated peacock feathers in my wedding.
Here are a few pics I took of the elements I was using before the wedding

You can also see a few pictures taken by a friend.
Check out his website. You should be able to see a few of the centerpieces, invites and program. I also included a peacock feather as the cake topper along with our initial.

I should have more pictures from my wedding photographer soon.

Dominique! I love your wedding pics the bird cage, the dress, the bouquet, and all the peacock feathers are FAB! Do you you have any on flickr or something so I can save a pic of your bouquet as a jumping point for my florist?
All of the sites everyone posted are great, I’m planning a peacock themed in Italy, October 7 2009. I have no idea how hard it’s going to be trying to get the coordinator and florist on the same peacock page and how much DIY I will be able to do but you all have given me some great ideas THANKS!!!
Thanks Karen! I’ve added a few photos to flickr. Hope they help you as much as other brides before had helped me!
http://www.flickr.com/photos/31660004@N02/?saved=1
If you need anything else, let me know!
p.s…I’m looking to relieve myself of a designer wedding gown! So if anyone knows of anyone a size 4 who is looking for one, let me know! ;p
Dominique - I love your wedding guest book. Where did you purchase it?
Marcia,
The guestbook was another etsy.com purchase! (Can you tell I love this site?). It was custom made by a woman named Amanda. Her shop is at
paperlust.etsy.com
here is the link to her custom photo guestbooks
http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=16035994
i highly recommend one for anybody. it was a hit at the wedding, and my husband and I had a great time flipping through the entries afterwards. the only catch is you gotta put someone in charge of getting the photos and the signatures. otherwise people just walk around with the polaroid taking pictures of themselves and not signing the book!
Hey Dominique! I was wondering where you got your shoes! I love love love them!! I am looking for a pair in that color, maybe a little lighter… Any suggestions!? Thanks!
Dominique- Thanks so much for the link to flickr! I wish you much happiness!
First off, I am sooo glad I found this site! I am planning a peacock theme wedding for May 2, 2009. Thanks everyone for the great inspirations and sharing your story!!
JACKIE- I was looking at your pics and your wedding was BEAUTIFUL! I was wondering where you got/came up with the idea for the flower girls sash! It was amazing! Hope to hear from you soon
KJG soon to be KJP!!!!!!!!
Hi Kayla! Thank you. The day turned out perfectly. I bought the sash separately from the dress at David’s Bridal. I found the butterfly ornament with peacock feathers at Hobby Lobby. Not sure you have these stores in your area, but they have a whole like of Christmas ornaments incorporating peacock feathers.
I just clipped it on to her sash to add a little more color. If you don’t have one in your neighborhood let me know and I would be glad to pick one/some up for you.

I am totally amazed at this site. I too am getting married on May 2, 209 and incorporating peacock feathers. I would love a copy of the Knot article that everyone is referencing. My email is vpw1223@gmail.com. I am also looking for some ideas on center pieces and favors. Any ideas and pictures would be great. Thanks so much and good luck to each of you. It is such an exciting time!!!
hi ladies, we had our wonderful italian destination wedding on the 080808 and it had a touch of peacock all over:) it all worked really well…! Everything went well, and I’ll post photos soon.
I’ve been working hard on the http://www.peacockinvitations.com site since I got back from my honeymoon and it will be up and running soon. I’d still love to help anyone who’s interested so please contact me at info@peacockinvitations.com if you need anything or have some questions… here’s a few photos of the invitations I made for my own wedding, enjoy:) http://picasaweb.google.se/joiku.pedro.luca/PeacockInvitations?authkey=b7c69KDW_X4#
Wow! who would have known peacocks would have become so popular! I too am planning a peacock themed wedding 9/6/09 and would love any helpful info. w1llsonwedding@yahoo.com Good luck and thanks!
@Jo: @Jo:
Jo i love the invitations we are having a destination wedding as well in Italy on the amalfi Coast in Oct 2009 with a peacock theme well it’s really a 30 travel theme with peacock touches. We are using vinage travel poster as well as peacock as decor touches. So how did the wedding go? And all the planning? Any pics?
@ Karen
Hi Karen!
That’s so great. Italy is so wonderful:)
I just did a 1930’s wedding invitation with peacock touches! if you send me your email I’ll send you pics of it. It turned out really well!
I have loads of pics but as we had an art photographer friend of ours take them I would rather not post them here. If you email me I can send you a few… at info@peacockinvitations.com
Wow — I’m so glad I found this page! I love dark blue, green, and purple (I’m even making all the guests wear blue or black to my wedding) and found that Knot picture of the bouquet with the peacock feathers and thought, clearly I should incorporate those into my bouquet. Was a bit worried that my wedding is in May 2009 and the peacock has primarily fall colors, but obviously lots of other girls got married in spring/summer with peacock themes, so it’ll be fine. So many great links, love it!! If anyone can send me the spread from The Knot, that would be HUGELY appreciated (katmmad@hotmail.com) but if not I’ll check it out at the library.
Kat!
Hey Im gettin married in May 2009 also! And I am using peacock feathers in my BM bouquets, GM bouts and the centerpeices!! Im super excited, and I think its going to turn out beautiful! Im sure your will aswell!! Happy planning!!
Kay

Hello ladies!
I have been engaged for almost 2 months and I have been planning a peacock themed wedding in Sri Lanka for Sep/Oct 2009. I too thought this would be an original idea but I see it is not!
I love the ideas for center pieces and boquets. I am wondering where I can get peacock fans as I plan to use them for favors if I can find some for not much $$. Please send me any ideas if you have any to peteratnewedding@gmail.com
hello ladies! I’m getting married may 2009! I just looked at everyone’s pictures and read through the ideas and now am really inspired to do a peacock theme (I was debating between that and something else) Does anyone have the Knot article/ spread that could email it to me? I’d TRULY appreciate it. thanks
All these ideas are so great! The peacock theme is unique and very classy and allows for many bold colors to be incorporated!!! Please send KNOT peacock issue or other photos from your own weddings if any of you have time! Thanks!
Hello Ladies,
I’ve designed an invitation with a peacock theme. It’s unique because it incorporates the entire peacock, not just a quill. Have a look, if you like!

I am planning a 6/6/09 wedding with peacock theme.. but I’m using some of the lighter hues. Any ideas? Also, can anyone send me the Knot spread or the Creative Weddings article?
Thank you!
Angie
amagnuson_2@hotmail.com
I have stumbled across a website that has both a feathers and the entire bird (different invites). I think they’ve got some really unique stuff! Just click on the wedding invites link and browse thru them. Good luck!
I found the Aria peacock colored bridesmaid dress (mentioned above) at http://www.ariadress.com.
Has anyone used the dress that can share pictures??
Thanks in advance!
Ladies. Thanks for all the fantastic ideas. My groom - to - be is from India and we are trying to plan a wedding with a peacock theme (as if you haven’t guessed) as both a lovely idea and also a homage to his heritage. We are looking especially for favors from India and decor ideas for the venue. Additionally, we have to have an Indian Mandap for our ceremony. This picture is a fancy modern one. Ours will be less intense and we will have to decorate that too.
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/7/77/Mandap.jpg
I am very concerned that my limited decorating skill will make our wedding look like Mardi Gras and that is my plan of avoidance. If people have ideas for decorations (ceremony, reception and mandap) or any Indian ideas that would benefit this event, please feel free to email me at k6kreil@rediffmail.com. Thank you graciously.
I posted a bit earlier, but I’ve fleshed out a lot more detials so I thought I”d post. The peacock theme will be fairly slight at our wedding: peacock feathers and blue flowers in my bouquet and in my groom’s boutonierre (white ostritch feathers and white flowers for the other folks who get flowers). Peacock-colored crushed silk tableclothes on the tables: http://www.lnique.com/fabrics-satincrushed.shtml — tall vases of submerged white gladiolas as centerpieces. The cake will sit on a spray of peacock feathers. Also, I think I’ll print the menu for every place setting on a 5×7 piece of clear vellum, roll and tie it with a piece of blue string, and stick a peacock feather in the string.
So to your question above, Kate, re: avoiding looking like Mardi Gras, my answer to that was to do very limited peacock stuff — a lot of the offset is plain white. You could do plain brown, also (our venue has a ton of dark wood, so I didn’t want it to be too dark).
For Jewish or interfaith couples, I just found a peacock ketubah on ketubah.com!
can you anyone help me out by sending me pics of wedding invitations using real peacock feathers instead of prints? Please I’m desparate!! ![]()
hi paula!
i have invites that use real feathers! check them out here: http://meanttobesent.wordpress.com/
there are boxed versions at the top and if you scroll down toward the bottom there is a panel style. both use a real feather!
they can be completely customized and you can add coordinating programs, place cards, menus etc.
let me know if you are interested!

I’m doing a teal/peacock blue color with a copper brown. Does anyone have good pictures of flower arrangements for the tables?

Dear Ladies,
We’ve been way too busy making invitations to work on our website for for now we have updated our picasa gallery http://picasaweb.google.se/joiku.pedro.luca/PeacockInvitations?authkey=b7c69KDW_X4# . There are a few photos of the favor boxes we made for my own wedding as well as our invitations and some other samples. the favors were a huge hit!
If you need any info we’ll gladly answer any questions at info@peacockinvitations.com
@Andrea Burns:
Andrea,
Loved your site. I’m especially interested in the invitations you had displayed. Can you tell me where you found the second and fourth one on the first row? (One has a real feather, the other has a black frame.) Thanks!
Hi Lauren,
Not sure which numbers they are but I know that Andrea has some invitations on her inspiration board from the http://www.peacockinvitations.com site. Check it out, they are gorgeous and they do all custom work and are REALLY great to work with. My invitations are being made as we speak! I am already in love with them;)
I have a lovely and unique peacock invitation on my website as well. Please view it at:
paperimpressions.blogspot.com
Best Regards!

Hey Lauren,
Many of the pictures I have are actually from this site but I think I also found invitations on Google search clicking image category. Trying searching with keywords like “peacock wedding” or “peacock invitations” or “peacock feather invitations”. Good luck. Sorry I couldn’t be more helpful.
I am using this them in my wedding. I bought my dress at Priscilla of Boston so I get a discount on bridesmaid dresses and Vineyard has the exact right colors for my BMs! I am using different colors for each bridesmaid as well as giving them those cute peacock feather earrings that have become so popular lately. Also, the bouquets will be wrapped in peacock feathers and the colors through out the wedding will be peacock inspired!!
I’m SO excited, I just received my invitations that were custom made by http://www.peacockinvitations.com! They are AMAZING and I can’t wait to send them out and hear what my guests say! Beautiful feather on each and in all the colors of my wedding theme, just BEAUTIFUL!
I would absolutely recommend working with them! They put up with my bridezilla style requests and really involved me in the decision making process so the invitations are exactly what I wanted! I’ll post photos once I have gotten the RSVPs back (just in case some of my guests see this).
I am getting married in April this year and the peacock colour scheme was my choice as well. I ended up with teal, gold and white as my main colours with the bridesmaids wearing full length teal dresses. I ordered full tail feathers from http://www.plumesnfeathers.com that will go on the tables and little plumage feathers from http://www.feather.com.au to go on my hand- made invites. I fell in love with the idea about 18 months ago when I started planning our wedding and I know it will be stunning. I recently found out there are even peacocks at our reception venue- it will make for some great photos I’m sure!
Hello there fellow Bees! I had my wedding 3 weeks ago and the entire theme was Peacock Feathers set in the 30s.
I’ll post some pics on my profile, but let me know if you have any ??s… I had a blast and let me tell you… I got OODLES of compliments on the colors and added touch that feathers give! Good luck and have fun!
Yes, VintageChica, we’d love to see the pictures! I’m having a very difficult time deciding on center pieces and decor - there are just so many ways to incorporate peacocks!
Hey brides! I had a peacock wedding last May, and we handmade GORGEOUS peacock feather pens for our favors. They were the hit of the reception - everyone LOVED them, and they doubled as decoration at each place setting.
We are selling them now on eBay, and you can also place orders with me at holly.drechsler@alumni.clemson.edu. You can see pictures of the pens and of us using them at the wedding on eBay.
Email me if you want to see more pictures and I will send them along. We also used beautiful handmade invitations and peacock decorations - I have TONS of pictures if you want some ideas!
Happy planning!
I’m also doing a peacock theme wedding and I must say I am running behind on my schedule, All i have is my dress, no venue yet and don’t even have a fixed date yet..
I’m looking for suggestions for not so expensive centerpieces with peacock colors (We are paying for everything ourselves!)
I’m planing an out door wedding at the White rock lake in Dallas TX with an indoor reception, anyone has any ideas about outdoor ceremony decor ??

Hi guglibee,
I was married just 5 months ago in Austin. I had an outdoor ceremony and reception under an indoor/outdoor pavilion. I have several centerpieces that are STILL in my garage. All incorporate peacock feathers, pheasant feathers/balls and other rustic elements.
I haven’t had time to pull together the yard sale I’m planning! My husband would appreciate me getting rid of everything. Let me know if you are interested in seeing the the decoration elements I have. I would be happy to send you pictures. Perhaps we can work something out since your in Dallas.

I love all this peacock themed ideas, do you guys have any ideas for cheap centerpiece ideas, like ones you can make at home?? Thanks!!
I forgot to include the links to the peacock feather wedding favor pens in my last post. Here they are:
Does anyone still have the knot and creative magazine articles? I would love to see. I am also planning a peacock theme wedding in 5/10. His favorite color is blue and mine is green. I decided to go bright, and then I realized those are colors of a peacock and so on. If anyone has those articles still, please e-mail me at SHaasFAU@yahoo.com Thanks so much!
Our wedding was a peacock theme. Pictures can be viewed at http://www.tarascreen.com
I purchased a beautiful ivory feather headpiece, from an artisan in Great Britain, that went missing the day before the wedding. It has been a year and the headpiece has to this day remained missing. That was the only part of my wedding that I am sad about, everything else turned out really well.
@Dominique:
Mrs.Johnson,
I love your peacock dresses and bouqets…. who made those dresses and where did you get your lovely feather bm thingys

Hi there fellow peacock brides
I am in full swing planning my fall wedding. i found the invitations I am going to get on Etsy. They have loads of cool peacock stuff there… http://www.peacockinvitations.etsy.com
I was thinking ting and feathers instead of flowers for my centerpieces. Does anyone have any pictures to share?
i got married in august 2008 and had a vintage/peacock themed wedding. we received SO many compliments on the representation. let me know if anyone is interested and i can give them some ideas/show some pics.
i looked all over for peacock-related bridesmaid dresses and ended up with J.Crew Sophia dresses in vintage (peacock) blue… they were AWESOME. I actually have some dresses left over (I was going to use them for fabric and didn’t), so let me know if anyone is interested.
@Janice:
we incorporated both (feathers and flowers)… here is a link to our slideshow:
Hi guys — I just got married on May 30 and had a GREAT time using peacock feathers for my bouquet, my husband’s boutonniere, other ceremony flowers, and as a flourish with my menu cards. I just posted a bunch of pictures to the WeddingBee gallery and tagged them all “peacock.”
Hmmn, just tried to do a search and realize you run into trouble if you search on “peacock” and “gallery only” because of Mrs. Peacock.
I’d suggest searching on my user name (katmmad) and then limiting it to “gallery only” — there are about 15 pictures, I think.
I am currently planning a peacock wedding… SURPRISE! I have purchased many peacock feather boas and I have not decided what to do with them yet. Any ideas? I am so excited to have found all of ou peacock lovers! I am in Canada,,,, am I the only one? I was jus hoping to find feathers a little closer to home to save on some shipping costs. I would love any ideas that anyone can share with me.

Hey guys…. I just got married on May 30th in Northern California. It was an out door wedding and reception and it was peacock themed. I did a lot of stuff myself but it was worth it. It turned out so great. I have tons of pics from my hair and the girls dresses to the centerpieces and invites to the flowers…. all peacock and yet it wasn’t too much peacock. Anyway, if you’re interested, most of it is posted on Facebook.com. You can befriend me and see it all: my name is Wendy Harris Cunningham. Or you can email me and I’d be happy to share ideas. Wendyrcunningham@yahoo.com. Happy planning!
