A pumpkin Mr. Bee and I carved from a previous Halloween…

I’m off to have dinner with Mr. Bee’s parents who are in town visiting, and then Mr. Bee and I will swing by the world famous West Village Halloween Parade. If you’re ever in New York, you have to check it out at least once.
Have a Happy Halloween everyone!
We really wanted to go to Thailand, but we want to go for a couple of weeks and won’t be able to do that, so we have decided to take a mini-honeymoon now, and go to Thailand next year.

So, we will be off to Montreal! I have never been and can’t wait. Mr. Raspberry is in charge of all of the planning for the honeymoon, but I couldn’t help but do a little research on restaurants and hotels. Daily Candy did a piece on Montreal a little while ago, with some great restaurant recommendations. You can read it here.

If you’re in need of a map to help guests find their way to the chapel, look no further than Couture Maps by Stephannie Barba. Her whimsical designs create that “wow factor” that many brides are looking for. From San Francisco to New York City and every little town in between!

My grandmother might cringe if she discovers the amount of money my mom was willing to lay down for the “perfect” veil. I mean, it is just simply an embellished piece of tulle!
At my dress try-on at Monique Lhuillier, I was fitted with a beautiful gold sash to finish off my dress, but the tears didn’t come streaming out of my mom’s eyes until they plopped a gorgeous cathedral length veil with ribbon edges on top of my head. It was the first time I felt like a bride as opposed to a dress model… it was the veil that made the ensemble complete. According to my notes, this amazing piece of tulle was a Toni Federici “Elaine” and at ML, they sell it for $405. My mom was ready to pay in cash for the veil right then and there, but I felt silly about it until we checked out other options.
We went and visited the headquarters of Erica Koesler in North Hollywood that afternoon to see what the small outlet offered and if any other veils caught my eye. While I didn’t find a discounted veil that I loved, I did find a small gold veil comb that was a bargain at $35. They offered to make me a custom veil for $135 that would mimic my desired look (butterfly edging, cathedral length, ivory with 1″ ivory satin ribbon), but mom was still hung up on the original and was worried our bargain copy wouldn’t be exactly the same.

-thanks, Janie!
Hello,
I frequent the young designer’s market down in SoHo every weekend in search for one of a kind pieces. I always buy very cute jewelry there, but they also sell handmade clothing, hats, candles, and bags there. Anyways, the point to my email, I met a woman who makes very cute purses / clutches that I thought would be nice bridesmaid gifts. Her bags range between $50 - $75 each.

I’ve been thinking about it all day. I was looking through some of the bios on The Knot and realized I have no idea what my “something blue” should be. Here are some ideas from other brides…
The light blue ring is my absolute favorite… I just don’t know think Mr. Raspberry will be up for that!

Shy Siren designers Anita Lin and Sara Schwittek make unique handcrafted jewelry and accessories from pearls, semi precious stones, Swarovski crystal and glass beads. They also carry a large collection of Belle Bags which are designed and sewn by Sara’s twin sister Amy (I’m partial to twins ’cause I am one!). What a perfect combination for a BM gift.

Mrs. Bee here.
Mr. Bee was very careful not to scare me off the in the beginning of our relationship, so he let me take the lead. He knew I was the one right away, but I was extremely skeptical, guarded, and cautious because to tell you the truth, I just didn’t believe in love for someone like me. I guess I was too practical. Not to mention that I didn’t believe in long distance relationships.
It took me a little while for all of it to sink in. But once it did - it was actually me who was the first one to say, “I love you.” This was around 2-3 weeks after we met.
So who said I love you first and how long did it take?
