Entry #1 - Stacia

My aunts surprised me with a hilarious shower game. Stated in the invitation was for each guest to bring their pjs in a brown paper bag. As each guest arrived, one of my aunts collected the bags and put a number in black marker on the outside.

When the game began, each guest was given a piece of paper with everyone’s name on it. My aunts grabbed bag #1 and pulled the pjs out. Each guest had to guess whose pjs they were, and put that number next to their name. The game was hilarious. And to make it even more funnier, my grandmother in law had newspaper in her bag! She really got the party started! Everyone thought that was mine!

It’s a really great ice breaker to bring two different families together and have a great time!

If it’s a ladies only shower, you ask the groom-to-be beforehand all these Q’s about the bride-to-be and then on the shower day, you ask the bride-to-be the same Q’s to see if they match the guy’s answers. Q’s can be funny and embarrassing so it’s a good laugh. To make it better, the bridesmaids can video tape the groom-to-be answering the Q’s, so it would be funny to watch.

This one is great for bigger showers where the gift opening gets really old fast. A bridal shower I went to this past summer had shower-gift BINGO. The bridesmaids had printed out BINGO cards with random items from the registries. As the bride opened each gift, you would mark down if you had it on your BINGO card. This was particularly amusing because (a) the BINGO slots were VERY specific. So as my friend would open tupperware, for example, the guests would be yelling out “Is that the 32-item set or the 64? Square or round? WHAT COLOR LIDS!!!???” (you have NEVER seen people more interested in shower gifts, hehe) and (b) you could discuss at your table how you had completely screwed yourself from winning because your particular BINGO was filled with items you had just bought the bride for her wedding gift, so you knew she wasn’t getting them at the shower.
