DIY Roundup

October 2nd, 2006 @ 7:33 pm by Mrs. Blueberry

More for my own peace of mind than anything else, here’s a list of all my DIY projects and their stage of completion.

Things in bold are done or mostly done; things in italics are partially done.

1)Flower girl baskets (materials purchased and sitting in my parents’ guest room waiting to be finished)
2)Ring bearer pillow (see above)
3)Save-the-dates (done! Just need to get two more addresses and stick them all in the mail)
4)Shoe ornamentation (materials purchased; just need to take 10 minutes next time I’m home and put them on–I found crystals w/ adhesive backs and am going to put them under the sole near the heel)
5)Invitations (materials purchased…etc.)
6)Thank-you notes (materials purchased, and hopefully when I go to KC this weekend I can get a head start on some of them–it should be an easy DIY since all I have to do is stamp the cards and make envelope liners)
7)Out-of-town guest bags (bags purchased and undecorated, food will be purchased closer to the big day)
8) Servingware (purchased but not inventoried; still need to assemble some)
9)Swarovski crystal bouquets (all are in various stages of done-ness)
10)Luminaries (everything’s purchased; just need to cut out the shapes in the bags)
11)Flower girl/ring bearer activity totes (all materials purchased, mostly assembled–still need to put embellishments on some bags)
12)MOH/Bride’s bags (I’ve done NADA)
13)wedding party t-shirts (nothing done yet)
14)Programs (haven’t even started thinking about them)
15)Centerpieces (we have everything except the tealights, but now I think I’m going to add table runners, so…)
16)Table runners (haven’t bought the materials yet)
17)Site decorations (bought the tulle but not the twinkle lights–can’t get those until the after-Christmas sales)
18)Mothers’ and grandmothers’ gifts (I have an idea but haven’t done anything toward accomplishing them)
19)Fathers’ gifts (no clue what to do here but it’ll probably involve some level of DIY)
20)Personalized water bottles (we’re waiting till closer to the wedding)
21)Seat decorations (aack!! I didn’t even think about these until today!)
22)Favors (just need to add tags and ribbons)
23)Sparklers (still need to buy galvanized metal tubs for putting the sparklers out, but we’ve already got the sparklers and matchbooks)
24)Guestbook scroll (maybe) (haven’t done anything about it yet)

Wow…so that’s what all of our DIY looks like altogether. Am I the only one frightened by this? And I’m sure there’s something I’ve forgotten.

Someone hold me. I’m scared for my sanity.

wow~ if i had the time.. i would’ve definitely loved to have done a lot of the wedding projects. that is a great diy list you got there.

i have a question on the sparklers. will yuo be using them indoors. i would love to do sparklers and matchbooks for a favor idea. i guess i should be asking my venue but i figure if they’re going to allow votive candles everywhere it shouldn’t be a problenm right?

Miss Blueberry, I think you are way ahead of schedule. You have an impressive list of DIY projects, AND you’ve done a lot of it already. The stuff you haven’t done…I wouldn’t really sweat it, b/c as Mrs. Bee and others have already related, your seat decorations will not make or break your wedding.
