Beehive

October 3rd, 2006 @ 3:17 pm by Beehive

In today’s beehive:

  • A is looking for a non-MAC, free picture mosiac maker.
  • JL is just starting the venue search in NYC, LI, Hudson Valley, anywhere driving distance from NYC. She’s wondering if anyone is willing to share notes/excel spreadsheets of their research?
  • Jen is looking for a good resource for wedding hairstyles.
  • JW just booked her hair/makeup person and is looking for sites with photos of Asian makeup and hair.

A- try this one at flikr: http://bighugelabs.com/flickr/

I’ve never used it, but they do have some fun tools. A friend of mine has used it.

I had one on my old laptop, but no more. I researched all city venues - Bridgewaters, 24/5th, Tavern on the Green, Penthouse 15/Loft 11/Westside Tavern, Manhattan Penthouse/Alger House… let me know if you’d like more info on any of these…

JL I have been researching venues in the Hudson Valley area - not exhaustively, but basics - Name, Location, Price, my thoughts, and websites. I’m happy to email my spreadsheet to you.

Also, check out the local boards on the knot - they have tons of great venue suggestions, reviews, and ideas.

I wasn’t quite sure what you meant by the mosaic picture maker but I know Google has a free DL called Picassa that allows you to do simple but creative things with your photos. http://picasa.google.com/index.html

I have a question of the hive! Does anyone have a good resource for wedding hairstyles?

I had my hair trial a month ago, and I don’t really like what I picked out, so I need something else and I am getting married in less than a month!

Thanks! I actually played with the flickr one last night but gave up because the final product would be very blurry. I’m looking for something like Nadia did. (search “mosaic” under weddingbee)

It’s where you use pictures to create a collage of another photo. mac computers has this option, but I haven’t found any good one for PC’s yet.
