Last weekend, my family and I went on a weekend trip down to Austin to visit my sister who goes to school there. We also went to the UT football game with the owner of my dad’s company and his childhood friend, the vp, who also works at the company.
We stayed at the Barton Creek Resort & Spa, which as previously mentioned, was the site of many weddings and even hosted the wedding reception of Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey! The grounds were so peaceful and serene, not to mention gorgeous! I never wanted to leave!

Here are some of the multi-million dollar mansions on the property of the Barton Creek Country club - this is a view from our room.

Another pretty look - sorry the trees are so dark (in the bottom of the picture)

We even saw a family of deer! (can you spot them?)

Then of course, I spent morning here - poolside!
Their pool is so great - it’s big and I had it all to myself! I didn’t take a good picture of the pool, but here’s one from their site:

The indoor pool by the fitness center and spa

However, I did take a bad picture of their hot tub with the sun - haha

I would post a picture/write something about the game, but it was uneventful - we went to have beer, margaritas, and fajitas at the Texas Exes Center - the Alumni/Ex Student Center and there were thousands of people tailgating, wearing orange (school color) - it was fun, but it was also sweltering hot - 98 or so degrees.
I forgot to add that the rooms are priced around $300 up to $660ish a night, but if you have a membership to the Barton Creek Country Club, room rates are $190 per night! (which is the rate we got! :)) So, either become a member or find a friend who is a member! Albeit membership is around $30k and up…..so I guess that’s not really “saving” money. ![]()
Wowsers very pretty! Oh austin has such pretty rolling hills. I’d I had a choice to live anywhere in texas I’d pick austin bc of its diversity and gorgeous scenic views. I need to take another trip down there soon.
