For the first time in about 5 or 6 years, I had insomnia last night. Why? I was too excited to sleep!
“Excited about what?” you ask. Well, I’ll tell you (it is here that I feel like I should launch into a Mrs. Featherbottom-esque lesson/song).
It’s about the big bowl of pasta + fat free margarine + pesto-flavored dry seasoning that I just ate. Carbalicious!
Actually, it’s about a wedding website.
As in, I really want to make one. (This is a continuation of my “I want to be a wedding planner” jag–which I’m still considering, BTW. Yesterday I looked for some wedding planners in Missouri and read about their jobs online).
But not just any wedding website–I’m obviously somewhat anti-Knot (See my Knitting post). I’m also aware of fantastic sites like Frugal Bride, Indie Bride, and DIY bride–I’ve used them all extensively! But I think they’re all missing something.
I’ve got so many ideas! For example, I just spent the past half hour plotting out how one could, in theory, plan an entire wedding (including reception), for under $1000. I also thought about how it would be possible to arrange a gorgeous wedding–not just a courthouse affair–in less than a month.
Then I started thinking about all the DIY instructions I have to offer. And all of the people I could talk to (”interview”) for how-to’s on the things I don’t know: I could learn right alongside them, then publish the results as instructions!
It’s my damned crafty gene. Just won’t shut up, even long enough for me to get a decent night’s sleep.
At any rate, I don’t think I need anything else on my plate right now, what with still being a full-time student and planning my own wedding. I was just trying to come up with a more feasible use for my English degree and teaching skills.
Ooh! I could teach classes! Like at Michael’s, or in those Community Education things that go on at the local CC all the time! I bet they need someone young (read: not stodgy) to be doing that.
Hmm….
In the meantime, I’ll just have more pasta then try to call it a night.
::edit::
I never actually called it a night, but after an hour of watching videos on VH1 then re-reading this entry, I realized it may have come off as anti-Weddingbee or something–and that’s definitely not how I feel at all! The site I’m talking about starting is more of an informational site, not one for blogging or dialogue. But no…I definitely love Weddingbee! I love posting on there and interacting with so many other fantastic brides. All these ideas are just talk anyway–and talk is something I’ve never had any difficulty with. teeheehee
