Floating Candle Glass Bowls

October 6th, 2006 @ 1:11 pm by Mrs. Ladybug

Question:
Please research centerpiece bowls!!! Need cheap bowls that aren’t too low to float candles and flowers in. Found some nice ones from IKEA but they are too low to the table…FI wants them to have a llittle more height without giving up our first born. ~ Lissa

The first bowl shown is the one that Lissa was talking about. It’s about $7 dollars at Ikea. She’s going to have about 10 tables and 1 bowl per table. $70 bucks for 10 bowls? You really can’t beat that price. I will try to keep it low and throw in some other nice ones that I found. Just for you! Then I’m going to bill your ass a million dollars for my service. Just kidding. I wouldn’t do that. Instead I will steal your first born if you don’t name him/her after me.

Ikea
13 x 3 / $6.99

11.75 x 3.5 / $ 9.99

Jamali Garden: 13″ / $12 each or 8 for $64

Dillards: 11.5 for $12 / 15.75 for $15.00 (on sale)

Linens ‘n Things: 10″ / 8.99

Target: 13×4 / 10.79

You know where I think you would have the BEST luck? Either A.C. Moore or at a Michael’s Craft store. I also came upon another site that sells cylinder vases!

if you want to add height, could you put a plexi cube underneath? i think if would be lovely to have the bottom of a floating floral arrangement reflected in a mirror, and the bowl itself “floating” on a small plexi cube.

So the baby-to-be’s name will be Ladybug. Hard to explain that to the grandparents but you got it!

Thanks for the search! Pretty much what I came up with too. Decided to add this candle dish to the bottom. It will give us some height and we can put led lights in the base to shine through the rocks and water.

Sorry for the long link — I would have shortened it if I could have!

I used bowls similar to the 2nd picture for my reception and they ran me around $6 each if I remember correctly- got them at a glass warehouse type place. Since then, I have discovered that Walmart actually carries lots of inexpensive vases of all shapes and sizes including those. They normally have them by their sewing and floral department. Definitely check it out!

I actually helped out an girlfriend of mines for her wedding recently and we got bowls similar to pic 5 from Walmart for $3.99 (it was in the craft section). They were also at the “Ragshop” a craft store for $3~ish.

Hope this helps!
