Hair

October 6th, 2006 @ 10:55 am by Mrs. Blueberry

Still trying to figure out what to do with my hair for the wedding. I’m now thinking that I might like to wear it at least half down. I may just wait and see what my hairdresser’s opinion is–she’s been cutting and styling my hair since I was a toddler, and I wouldn’t dream of trusting anyone else to it for such an important event. Plus, she’s offered to do all the flower girls’ hair, and my MOH’s! :)

Anyway…here’s my hair last night:

7 months to go, and that’s how long my hair is. Do you think I should keep trying to grow it? I work so hard at growing it, all day every day! Sometimes I just sit quietly in a corner and think, “grow, hair! grow!” Can you tell my efforts are paying off?

Yesterday in class the girl who sits next to me said, “I’ve meant to ask you–your hair is always so gorgeous! It’s so shiny and you have no split ends! What shampoo do you use?” And I said…”Head and Shoulders”. Fancy stuff. :P

Your hair is gorgeous! Taking prenatal vitamins (I know, weird!) will help your hair grow, if you are looking for that extra boost!

i take prescription prenatal vitamins called natafort. well i got lazy and stopped taking them, but gwyneth paltrow swears that they give her the shiniest healthiest hair. I do notice that my hair seems to grow faster on them…

Miss Orange: I didn’t know what prenatal vitamins were either, but that’s what they’re actually called. You can go to the pharmacy and get the bottle titled “Prenatal Vitamins.” It’s over the counter and doesn’t need to be prescribed.

GNC has a hair skin and nail formula. It is a large green pill that works wonders! I saw an immediate difference in the shine. As far as my nails they all seemed to get to a certain point and then break, but after that they have been strong as well… nails.

The vitamin in the prenatals that helps your hair is B12 - you can buy just B12 tablets (sometimes just called “Skin, hair and nails”) at Walgreens or other drugstores.

I didn’t take anything (although someone did buy me prenatal vitamins, I just forget to take them), and my hair has grown about 3 inches in the past 6 months. My hairdresser told me 6 months ago that hair grows about 1/2 inch per month, and she was right!

For those folks who recommend GNC’s “Hair, Skin, and Nails” formula, does it help at all with acne?

Here’s a link to GNC’s “Hair Skin and Nails”:

Listed under one of its nutritional benfits is…
“Horsetail rush a natural plant based source of silica” — Not loving the name (”Horsetail”?) but I will get this on my way home. hmmm.
