Porto’s Bakery

October 6th, 2006 @ 4:03 pm by Mrs. Bee

My all time favorite cake is the Chocolate Raspberry Mousse cake from Porto’s Bakery in Glendale. When I used to live in LA, my friends and I would buy this cake every time any one of us had a birthday. My MOH Tania first introduced it to me, and everyone who eats it proclaims that it’s the best cake they’ve ever had. Even my mom who (like me) doesn’t like sweets, loves this cake. It’s that perfect blend of tangy and sweet, not too rich, light and just perfect.

If you’re throwing a bridal shower with a pink and brown theme (it has pink and brown dots around the cake with chocolate garnishes), or need a cake for any other pre-wedding party, trust me - you cannot go wrong with this crowd pleaser.

It looks a little different every time we order it, but here’s the cake from one of past my birthdays:

And another from my dad’s 60th birthday last year. Yum…. chocolate raspberry mousse goodness. That was the filling in our wedding cake too! :)

Everything I’ve ever had from Porto’s has been delicious, so you might want to check out their baked goods and sweets as well. It’s always packed so be sure to allow yourself a lot of time if you’re going to pop in.

I never tried Chocolate Raspberry Mousse Cake, however it sounds tempting. I always love to go to this Bakery place in Soho, New York Whenever my husband b-day comes I get him, his all time favorite Chocolate Mousse Cake at Bruno Bakery. The website is located here:
