Engagement Favors Phase I

October 9th, 2006 @ 11:35 am by Miss Sunflower

This afternoon I packaged all of the personalized M & Ms into little mini treat bags for our guests. Here’s what they look like at the moment:

These are the baggies that I purchased from the local Party City. I believe they were $1.99 for a package of 100. They come with silver twist ties:

I’m not sure where to put them on the day of the party. I was thinking a little basket on the table next to the “two peas in a pod” salt and pepper shakers, but then there’s also the possibility of putting them directly on the tables. Any input?

I would put the candy bags on the tables. Depending on how many you have, maybe do like every other person?? Very cute though!

I love the M&M’s idea! Where did you get yours? Were they expensive?

I ordered them from the M&Ms website - they have a section where you can customize them by color and saying. Mine say our names and our wedding date. I purchased 6 bags and it came out to $87, which is a bit too much to be honest. After ordering them, I went to party city and found that they actually sell the same bags with rare color M&Ms, only they’re not personalized. If I knew that before making the purchase, I would’ve just bought the plain M&Ms in the lavender & cream.

They are really cute, though, and if you can afford to swing the money for ‘em, I say go for it :)

Hi Miss Sunflower! I plan on buying m&ms for our wedding favors as well. However, I was wondering how many *roughly* m&ms did you place in each baggie? I plan on ordering clear pillow boxes - but I wasn’t sure just how many m&ms I’d have to order for 100 favors…

I scooped roughly a tablespoon of M&Ms in each baggie. I’m not sure how many that came out too though :(

Wowsers! Thank you! So were the 6 bags of M&Ms enough for 100 favors? Thank you so much for your help!!! ^_^

Woopsie. One more question… I’m sorry! Um… I noticed that your wedding date is… in April of ‘08…. Would they be okay until then? I would love to order my m&ms right now too.. but I wasn’t sure if they’d make it till June 07. =(

Duh.. I’m sorry.. my message sounds retarded up there. I know they’re for your engagement favors but I wanted to know how long you’d be holding onto them before engagement party takes place… Woopsie…

These favors were for our engagement party in October. I ordered them at the beginning of September - they arrive in a little styrofoam cooler. I ordered six bags and they were enough for approximately 50 guests.
