One game I set up for my sister-in-law’s shower was called Race for the Ring… I bought several packs of girls’ party favor plastic rings in all different colors and hid them all around the rooms we were holding the shower in. I also bought a pack of these mega-huge plastic diamond rings (the “diamond” was the size of a golf ball, and it sparkled!).
As guests arrived, they were let loose to find rings and place them on their fingers. The mega diamonds were worth 5 rings each, and the girl with the most rings at the end was the winner. Imagine around 20 women in their mid to late 20s running all around the room, fighting for rings, screaming “there’s a big one!” and everyone flocking to the hiding place… it was hilarious!

It’s not really a game, more of an activity I guess, but the shower I threw really seemed to enjoy it. Ahead of time, I asked the bride’s fiance for 24 reasons that he loved her. Then I bought 2 dozen roses (to be used as the centerpiece on the food table, I love cutting costs!) and tied a small piece of paper to each rose in a matching color so it didn’t stand out too much.
At the end of the shower, I grabbed the vase, handed it to her, and told her that it was her fiance’s time to shine. She was confused because she didn’t even see the paper, so she was suprised! She sat down and read them one by one. Some were funny (you bought me my favorite Star Wars movie) and some were sweet (you are the most beautiful girl I know).
I thought this one was cool because it gave all the girls an intimate look into their relationship while reminding all of us why we were really there to celebrate!

For one of my college friends, the maid of honor wrote out “The Story of Jes and Jim” (bride and groom) and turned it into a madlib. We were all given sheets to fill out adjectives, nouns, verbs, etc. Afterwards, we took turns reading our completed stories. It was a lot of fun because we all tried to guess how the story would go and put in adjectives we thought were appropriate (they were both on the crew team, so there were a lot of rowing references) but were so far off.

I threw a bridal shower for my FSIL this past Febuary that was a hit. Out of the 4 games we played, the fav among everyone was the Wedding Cake game. Each table was a group (about 5 guests) they were given a pound cake, some edible glitter, cake decor, icing and all the good fixings. They were given 10 mintues to create the best wedding cake, of which the bride chose!! The guests along with the bride had a great time..and the guests still talk about it and have used since then!

Last night was my bridal shower and my friends planned a great game for me. I am not much of a lingerie person and I told the women planning the party that I’m a “white cotton undies” kinda girl. On the evite they asked each person coming (and even those that weren’t) to provide a quote and I would have to guess who said what. When I got there they pulled out a “wedding cake” made up of white boxes shaped like slices of cake. Each box had a different pair of undies on which the hosts had artfully written the quotes. Not only was it fun and funny trying to guess who said what, (my sister said “Give me back my shirt!” ¢â€š¬‹Å“cuz I’m always stealing her clothes) but I got to take home 24 pairs of white cotton undies!
