Open Questions: Vendor Recommendations

October 10th, 2006 @ 1:47 pm by Open Question

Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone knows of any or can give me an idea of how/where to find a tri-lingual MC around the NYC area? My fiance’s family speaks Cantonese, mine speak Mandarin, and there will be plenty of people at the wedding who speak neither. This I think by far will be the most challenging part of my wedding planning and I would love some help! Thanks! Love the site!

I have just about 8 and a half months until my wedding and we cannot find a church to save our lives! We don’t want an outdoor wedding, but we’re trying to think of places we can get married besides a church. We’re from the Quad Cities area in Illinois/Iowa (if necessary). Thanks! :)

I’m still in need of a korean make-up artist in Manhattan. Anyone with recommendations??? My email is pattypark@gmail.com

Farrah, Can you get married inside your reception space? Or you can try some other venues, like a museum or a university hall. I don’t know your area at all, but just some suggestions.

It looks beautiful! A couple in my FI’s apartment complex recently had a wedding there.

Farrah - how about a library or museum? I also really like turtle’s idea of a building at a university - maybe if you are an alum of a nearby university you can get a special deal? Good luck!

LK, I work for a cultural institution in NYC that uses translators and teachers in both Mandarin and Cantonese - if you get stuck and need translation services, let me know. Do you have an e-mail address?

Farrah - you could also look into having it at the Lodge in Davenport: http://www.lodgehotel.com/weddings.php

I am having three languages also. Try contacting dynasty weddings (ask for Chris) and he should be able to help you.
