STD Experiment

October 10th, 2006 @ 2:45 pm by Miss Sunflower

After making about half of the menus for the engagement party, I decided to print out the STD bookmarks that I’ve been playing around with. I made three of them, with a different font for each. I was debating on sending out all three styles so everyone gets a different bookmark, but mom and I really like the first one. It looks more formal than the others.

I purchased cardstock from A.C. Moore for $0.20/page. The little flowers at the top and bottom of the bookmark are a dingbat font called “Vintage”.

Opinions/suggestions welcome!

So cute!! I agree that the first one looks most official, but part of that might just be since it’s the only one with the ribbon. I love it!! :)

I like the first one best. And am I the only person who sees “STD Experiment” and thinks “sexually transmitted disease experiment?” Guess I’m not quite as immersed in this wedding stuff as some of you guys!

I thought that too!! haha.

Very pretty. I like the first one best as well.

I also like the first option the best–seems the most cohesive and more–well, like a bookmark than the others.

I’m not sure what you are using to cut the bookmarks, but my friend found a blade insert for her paper cutter that created a really interesting finish on the bottom edge of my bookmark STD (hee hee).

I thought the same thing about STD Experiment!!! I have a question - how did you print them on out on the cardstock? - my printer won’t take the cardstock paper that I bought from Michael’s at all.

If you decide to use the first one, what do you think about changing the “You’re Booked” to a more script-like font? And yes, it does look like the most formal of the three.

The first one fits more with the New York atmosphere. New York Times-ee but with cursive elegance!

I thought “sexually transmitted diseases” while I was writing it, actually, lol. But I figured you guys would know what I meant!

As for printing on the cardstock….

I fed one sheet at a time through the printer to prevent jams. Of course, I don’t know if that’s the real reason why it worked, but it sounds good :)
