I was supposed to start the Vow to Be Fit program today, but I spent most of the day at the doctor’s office so tomorrow it will be. I’ve taken all my measurements and even got weighed at the doctor’s office, so I know it’s accurate.
Since Mr. Bee and I got married, I’ve gained around 12 pounds. Before that gain, I’d pretty much been the same weight for over a decade. I’m a petite 5′2″ so 12 pounds is a lot on my frame. Most of my clothes don’t fit anymore and clothes that were once big on me are now too small. My dad who’s always telling me that I need to gain weight, told me I needed to lose weight the last time I went home to visit. That’s when I knew it was getting serious.
I don’t believe in quick fixes - I firmly believe maintaining a healthy weight is a lifestyle choice that includes a healthy diet and regular exercise. But I work long hours alone on a computer, eat crap, and don’t exercise at all. What I really need is a jumpstart to lose a couple of pounds and get motivated to achieve and maintain my weight/health/fitness goals. That’s why I’m doing this program. Plus my friend Rebecca has lost an amazing 30 pounds on it!
I’ll be writing about my progress daily and taking you along on the journey. I’m told women tend to lose more inches while men tend to lose more pounds. Inches it is then - my goal at the end of this program is to fit back into my skinny jeans. ![]()
