E-ring Pics, Wedding Ring

October 11th, 2006 @ 12:02 pm by Mrs. Blueberry

Bah. I’m getting tired of not having the right wedding ring (yes, the wedding is still 7 months away). I want to find the perfect one, dammit!

Mr. Blueberry says that when we go down to St. Louis this Thursday we can look around at Neustadter’s (the store my e-ring came from) again. And we’ll be bringing the camera this time :).

******
In honor of it being our 1 year, 1 month engagement anniversary, as well as just a couple weeks shy of my 1 year anniversary of having my ring, here are some pics of the bling, taken last night:

This one’s fuzzy, but you can really see the sparkle!

I’m such a bad photographer, it’s not even funny. :P I used a pad of blue post-it notes as my background–just like the pros, right?

And wow…looking at those pics, I can see sooo many tiny scratches in my 14k white gold band. I’m currently deciding whether or not to have them smoothed out when I go and get it inspected this weekend. On the one hand, I like how they show that the ring’s been everywhere with me and that I’ve worn it so much, but on the other hand, I’d sort of like it to always look as brand-spankin’ new as it did when I first got it.

What do you think–should I get it smoothed out or not? Do you/will you get yours done?

I get mine polished every once in awhile so it looks as good as new again!

How in the world do you take a good pic of a ring…all of mine come out super blurry!

i’d polish it cuz it’ll look realllly old and scuffed up after a while. in my case, i am swapping out the white gold e-band for a platinum one so it won’t scratch as easily.

it may be a good idea to get it smoothed out. last year i watched an episode of martha stewart and darcy miller (MS weddings editor) said all brides should get their prongs checked every year so i will definitiely do that.

I’m going with the denture cleaner for the big day. Then we’ll have the e-ring and band saudered together. That’s when I’ll have them smooth it out.

Miss Blueberry-
I have exactly the same ring! Same setting, same 14K white gold…it even looks about the same size diamond!
I have had mine since last November and it is starting to get a bit scratched up-I use a jewelry cleaner weekly and I am thinking about getting it polished before the wedding. I am also in desparate need of getting the ring resized as it is a bit too large-I will probably do everything at once.

i definitely get it buffed out… it should be shiny and polished by then… its not a big deal to get it polished and cleaned. my uncles a jewelrist and he does for me when I bring my jewelry and watch. it shouldnt cost u much.

I choose a titanium ring as my engagement ring because, it is scratch resistant and stays polished a long time! Plus http://www.titanium-jewelry.com/ has a lifetime warranty on all of its jewelry!

Take the jewelers advice. I need my wedding ring re-sized. It is too small. It made a red patchy skin rash after 13 yrs of marriage. I think because it is hollow underneth. I was thinking resizing is the best. Filling it in or getting a solid band would be more expensive. How much is resizing? Anyone?
