About Mrs. Blueberry

Aww Crap

October 12th, 2006 @ 11:26 am by Mrs. Blueberry

You know how sometimes you can see something for every day of your life and never really notice it? Well, this is sort of similar. Yesterday I was drinking coffee (hazelnut, with Equal and vanilla creamer) out of my favorite travel mug and I took a minute just to look at it. It didn’t register immediately, but all of a sudden I noticed what it looks like:

Did I really just do that? Did I really subconsciously get my wedding’s theme from a coffee mug?!? It would seem that is the case. I’m simultaneously amused and a little bit disgusted with myself.

Where did you get your theme or color scheme from?

Hahaha, that’s hilarious!! :-) But I think as long as “cheap plastic” isn’t part of your theme, you’re still good to go! ;-)

I got my color theme from some bedding I saw at Bed Bath and Beyond. It was so pretty, with white, aqua, and spring green stripes. And then it hit me: Those were going to be our wedding colors. I went to Michael’s craft store next, and there was this sheer, shimmery ribbon that had the exact same blue and green side by side. It was fate.

Last year’s Martha Stewart Weddings Fall magazine. I didn’t want something frilly and girly - no pastels - and for a wedding on a mountain lake, green and brown fit the bill. It was tough going convincing our parents though.

A Kiki Smith book. Really random, but it was sitting on the shelf and Mr. Lily said, “that’s a nice color!”

I got our theme from my husband to be. Yup. I picked other colors, but he got on the mac and was like, wellll… I like THESE colors better. And the darn man was right.

My first propsed color scheme came to me subconsciously from our shower curtain. FI vetoed the pink, so we’re doing black, white and green.

Breezy

My color theme (deep berry pink and chocolate brown) came from the nail polish I had on my toes during the trip we took (which is where/when my fiance proposed). It was this great deep berry pink color…Apparently while I was thinking about the wedding I was staring at my toes! And I recently added champagne to the mix because of a detail on my gown!
