Pearl Mania

October 12th, 2006 @ 3:30 pm by Mrs. Butterfly

My MOH is the bestest friend in the whole wide world! Not only is she lending me her headpiece from her own wedding, she is lending me her pearl necklace as well! So of course, I had to go out and buy (fake) pearl earrings to match. I just can’t choose which earrings to wear!

Here is the head piece.

You can’t really see it in the pictures, but the headpiece is accented with tiny pearls in each diamond shaped area.

Option 2

Option 3 - This one does have real pearls, and its from Tiffany’s. My FMIL bought it for me as an engagement present earlier this year.

Which earrings should I wear?

Option 1: my only reservation with this is that it’s a drop-shaped pearl, and the necklace they’re all round.

Option 2: gorgeous earrings, but the headpiece isn’t flowery, like the earrings, and so I think it’s best to stay more consistent in the design.

Option 3: wonderful for sentimentality, and simplicity - and beautiful earrings. Again, the pearls may not be a match color-wise with the necklace, so I’m not sure how that will look. Also, the metal-part is smooth & curvy, while the headpiece is the diamond-angled - so slightly different styles.

My perfect choice (which may or may not exist in real life) would be like a silver-diamond shape on top, with a single pearl hanging down off of it that matches the necklace.

Because hey, we can imagine a world (or wedding) where everything is 100% coordinated, right?

i like the 2nd option…but you may want to wear your engagement earrings during ceremony (bonus for FMIL’s love) then change them to another pair…this will get people to notice a change during reception….

If I had Tiffany earrings, I would certainly be wearing them!

I would go with a simpler style than number 2, but I like the color of that pearl, to match the necklace. You’re so lucky to have such great friends!

i think wearing a tiara, necklace, and earrings may be a little too much bling. you’d be gorgeous with just the tiara and earrings in your strapless dress. :)

I agree with Mrs. Bee Skip the pearl necklace. And I think Option 2 looks better for your face shape because long earrings elongate the face and helps create an illusion of looking skinnier! I did the same thing for my wedding.

I think you want to choose the smallest, simplest pair because you don’t want to be overwhelmed with jewelry. I would even see if you could find a pair of pearl studs. Just an idea.

i think a simple/plain pearl earring would be nice with everything.
