Breast Cancer Support

October 16th, 2006 @ 6:19 pm by Mrs. Blueberry

I know this has made the rounds on weddingbee before, but if you visit The Breast Cancer Site and click on the pink box in the middle of your page, the site’s corporate sponsors will donate money toward a mammogram. You can click once a day; I’m setting the site as one of my Firefox home pages and encourage everyone else to do so, too.

Check out their products page for great ideas — you could find a great shower gift or potentially even a bridesmaid’s gift!

These totes are great to hold your wedding-day essentials!

And I would *love* to receive a set of these winter accessories–I’m sure any other girl would, too :).

At Bed, Bath and Beyond, Lenox is selling this lovely candy dish and vase ($29.99 apiece).

They’re super cute and would make the perfect housewarming or engagement gift! A portion of the proceeds benefit breastcancer.org. I just added both items to our wedding registry :). B3 also has tons of other great Support the Cure merchandise–who doesn’t love pink kitchen accessories?

A lot of us have seen the famous stand mixer ($299.99), but now there’s a hand mixer too! ($69.99)

KitchenAid is donating a portion of the sales to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

And at only $15.99, this silicone baking pan is just too adorable to pass up! I may have to pick one up next time I’m in Kansas City…I love silicone bakeware!

To be even more generous to the cause, a popular trend in wedding favors right now is an “in your name” donation. Click here to learn how to donate to breast cancer research. If you decide to go this route, you could either put a note on the backs of the menus at the reception (where many people put “our story” or significant song lyrics or poetry), on cards at each guest’s place, or simply printed and placed in pretty frames at various spots throughout the reception hall (if you’re not having a sit-down dinner).

I love the idea of doing this–it’s simpler than wrapping 200 little boxes, and I’m sure most guests would appreciate it more than a wine stopper or tiny silver picture frame!

PS> I’m sure prolific today, aren’t I? ;) I guess I’m making up for my four days of withdrawl. :)
