I wanted confirmation from my fiance that I wasn’t a Bridezilla and he said I wasn’t, but that I was more like a Bride-Drill-Seargent. I’m not so much hysterically emotional like what we’re used to seeing on television (ie. brides that take out their frustrations on their wedding planner, fiance, vendors when unfortunate obstacles appear) - I’m more methodical, organized, and demanding but in a nonhysterical way. He says that I want things done a specific way and if it’s not done correctly, I take another route so that it gets done my way. FI says that I “Adapt and Overcome…Huahhhh!!” (ie. misc. army motto).
For example, last week we were trying to figure out an outfit for our upcoming engagement photo session, and I would not accept him wearing his blue sneakers, frayed blue jeans, and Way of Fury cartoon t-shirt. I mean we’re spending a good chunk of money on these pictures so why not dress up a little, yes? So on the next free weekend, we went shopping for an outfit he could wear to the photo shoot and other special occasions. I admit I’ve become more demanding lately and I want it done no later than - “as soon as possible” so maybe the Bride-Drill-Seargent is reappearing as a Bridezilla.
He also said he can neither confirm or deny the existence of bridezilla at this time until the wedding day (the ultimate test). Hahahaha.
Have you been told you were a bridezilla by your FI or others?
