Wedding Rings

October 16th, 2006 @ 1:26 pm by Mrs. Blueberry

On Friday we set out with a mission: to find the perfect wedding bands! We planned to check out three shops: Neustaedter’s, Shane Co., and some place Mr. Blueberry’s mom suggested, whose name I can’t remember. At any rate, we didn’t make it there.

Our first stop was Neustaedter’s to get my e-ring cleaned and inspected. When the jeweler brought it back out to me she said it was in perfect shape, especially for me having had it for a year! Made me very happy :D. Then, we got down to business: finding wedding rings.

Mr. Blueberry found two he really likes.

Option A:

Option B:

Both are by Novell–their site is great; they have soooo much variety!

He’s not sure which he likes better–which do you prefer???

Then, I started looking. I tried on several:

ring32.jpg

Pretty, but not “the one.” I think it overpowered my e-ring a bit. (btw, see how pretty and sparkly clean my e-ring is now? Woooooo!!!!)

ring42.jpg

I liked this one more, but it still didn’t really do it for me (plus I don’t want an eternity band).

ring51.jpg

Getting warmer… (this is the one I actually liked before, only in white gold.)

BUT THEN I FOUND IT!!!

They didn’t have it in stock in the wedding band, just in the e-ring setting, so that’s how I tried it on.

Another view:

It has alternating round and marquis diamonds, totalling in .5 ct., in a 14K white gold setting. The brand is Mastini.

The only problem? The price! At $1300 it’s out of our price range.

So tomorrow I’m going to start looking around online to try and find the same thing for a lower price. The website isn’t much help, either.

~~~
Edit: I lied, I started looking tonight! Not coming up with much, though–but I’ve got the feeling that I’ve seen it before, somewhere online. Does anyone else remember coming across it, and if so, where? Help is appreciated!
~~~
Edit edit: I found a couple online that look right at first glance, but don’t have the marquis/round combination–they have all round, but w/ some in a marquis-shaped setting.
~~~
Edit edit edit: I’ve now checked Amazon, Blue Nile, Shane Co., Shop.com, Overstock, and ice.com, coming up fruitless on all. I shall continue my search! BTW, I can hardly believe the wedding is 7 months (+10 days) away!!!
I like the last one best too … but I don’t think the price sounds high for what it is. Not sure if finding a cheaper version is possible. I did find something similar at estatediamondjewelry.com … for $1400 in platinum. Perhaps you should post this over at Pricescope.com. Lots of jewelry lovers who are VERY up on what online ring bargains are out there at any given time! Tiffany makes a similar version as well … but that is even MORE expensive. Prices are just dern high right now. Oh … here’s the link to the one I found …
Gorgeous! Maybe talk with someone in the jewelry district and see how much to make it for you - it could be cheaper than a “designer” ring. Good luck, it’s SO pretty!
I like option B for Mr. Blueberry. I actually really like the first wedding band you tried on! But it is a bit overpowering, and I’m sure pretty expensive?
I found this one
Not diamonds everywhere like the one you saw, but the same shape and less money.
I know I’ve seen a ring like that online too. I found this, although they’re pear-shaped and round, and it may be a bit smaller than you wanted:
And just to show off I adore this ring:
I have the second to last option which is paired with my solitair round diamond. I like that the best.
I just ran across your blog while searching the description of MY wedding band - the one you’re looking for matches mine almost exactly! Unfortunately I can’t be much help - I bought mine on eBay - someone was selling their grandmother’s wedding ring. Let me know if you have any luck finding yours! I’m trying to find one to match to place on the other side of my e-ring.
Best wishes!
