Wedding Song

October 16th, 2006 @ 2:21 pm by Mrs. Orange

Mr. Orange and I went to our very first concert together Saturday night to see Rascal Flatts at Madison Square Garden. Yes, they’re country, or more like pop-country. It’s hard to believe that people in New York listen to country, eh? I love Rascal Flatts! Mr. Orange was not as excited, but equally happy to hear our wedding song live.

Bless This Broken Road

I set out on a narrow way, many years ago
Hoping I would find true love, along the broken road
But I got lost a time or two, wiped my brow and kept pushing through
I couldn’t see how every sign, pointed straight to you
Every long lost dream, led me to where you are
Others who broke my heart, they were like northern stars
Pointing me on my way, into your loving arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you

I think about the years I spent, just passin’ through
I’d like to have the time I lost, and give it back to you
But you just smile and take my hand, you’ve been there you understand
It’s all part of a grander plan, that is comin’ true
Every long lost dream, led me to where you are
Others who broke my heart, they were like northern stars
Pointing me on my way, into your loving arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you

Now I’m just rollin’ home into my lovers arms
This much I know is trueThat God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you

oh, I love that song, and Rascall Flatts, and Country Music (which nyc sorely lacks, no good country radio!!).

I like Selah’s version better. They have male and female vocals singing it. :-)

I know I’m in the minority when I say I LOVE COUNTRY MUSIC!

True, there are definitely some totally cheesy country songs, but also some really great ones.

Great song choice!
