Venue and Date Booked!

October 17th, 2006 @ 2:49 pm by Mrs. Lime

Woohoo. Having to drive down there on a weeknight to turn in the application and deposit in person was a pita. Good thing the wonderful Mr. Lime did it! And good thing he has a motorcycle… boo to LA traffic!

The Clarke Estate. In August. EEK. Time to start getting my planning butt into gear. The rental fees are not that cheap unless you are a resident of the city since it is a city-owned property. Time to find a very reasonable caterer. The good news is we can bring in our own alcohol - Bevmo/Costco/whatever local wine shop that delivers, sets up, and allows returns, here we come!

More pix of the venue. Excuse the grey skies and retirement party setup pictured.

Like any good Modernist, I <3 red & white.

v21.jpg
I also <3 bamboo. However, I do not <3 trellises or terra cotta planters. It’s ok, no one else will care.

v31.jpg
Lovely architecture - the perfect blend of California Spanish wanna-be, Modern, and white cube for me, but not for everyone.

v41.jpg
Again, love the weird shade of red that accents the otherwise all white & grey house.

v51.jpg
The ceremony lawn. I think I’d rather get married under the trees and bamboo than in front of the white trellis. We shall see…

v61.jpg
Part of the large ‘reception’ lawn.

v71.jpg
Random pool I’ll have to dress up fabulously. A lounge area? Floating girly crap in there like flowers and candles that I make fun of but would love to do? Perhaps…budget says…???

v81.jpg
It’s not for everyone unless you like boxy, plain, and white like I do.

v91.jpg
Unexpected embellishment where I will be starting my walk down the aisle.

v101.jpg
Cute photo op.

v111.jpg
Another cute photo op - red door peeking out from the arch in the distance and a trellis like structure that is clean and unfussy.
