Mashers

October 18th, 2006 @ 9:24 am by Mrs. Strawberry

I fell in love with the idea of a mashed potato martini bar some time ago. I am happy to say that I’ve convinced my fiance to have one! :)He, like so many others before him, were confused at the concept. Many people think it’s a potato flavored martini. Negative. To me, a mashed martini bar is the holy grail of buffet food. You start out with a martini glass, you plop a dollop of mashed potatoes in, pile on the toppings and go to town. Imagine the possibilities. Yukon gold mashed potatoes. Garlic mashed potatoes. Topped with chives. Sour cream. Lobster? Caviar? Oh, yes.

We are doing something like this, but with grits! It’s the only thing acceptable for this southern girl. :-) We are definitely using the martini glasses too! I cannot wait!! It may just be my favorite part of the reception food. hehe!

I look forward to dining on a mashed potato bar at your wedding. It is a great, unique idea!

It may be the only thing better in a martini glass than martini itself. :O)
